This veteran core has to be a major topic of discussion, and I expect it will be.

I feel like they served their purpose in transition, but apart from Panarin, have played themselves out of the long-term outlook.

So they trade half the good parts of their rebuild for Eichel, and then they back fill the void with more Howden and Hajek types by trading Strome and Zbad?

This would have been a valid line of thinking if the Rangers hadn’t been stockpiling picks and prospects since 2017

If you can't hit anyone you can't create space against the better teams. Strome can feast all he wants on shitty teams. But he sucks against the bulky teams. I don't mean to pick on him alone as he's not the only one, it's the whole team but he's really the epitome of a player who starts shying away when things get tough and as a result Panarin suffers. Panarin must be able to play with some of our bigger stronger forwards or he will never get space against teams like the Islanders, Bruins and the like. It's hard to watch.
