I do not drink at all and I’ve never been drunk but I have tasted vodka, rum, coolers, whiskey, wine, etc. I grew up in a house with an uncle who is the most severe alcoholic imaginable and his choice of drink is beer. He drinks 30+ per day and doesn’t even eat food because he is so full of beer. He eats maybe 5 meals per week. I’ve never seen him sober in my life, or really anything but absolutely shitfaced drunk. So that’s probably why I never desired to try beer lol. ive had a sip of NON-ALCHOLIC beer, and if real beer tastes anything like that… it was absolutely disgusting. Far worse than any other form of alcohol imo. Best tasting was coolers or Malibu.

Thats a good reason not to drink. Sorry to hear about that. Alcoholism runs in my family to a degree as well. Sad to see.

True enough. Feels like it may have been a good chance to give Barron a game. If things do get rough, he has much more bite than McKegg.
I know...it is hard to figure . Is Barron that much more of a defensive liability ? Does he not show enough in practice ? Does McKegg have bonus mark money in his deal where he has to play X amount of games to get it ? I honestly can't figure it out . Someday I do hope to bump into Turk's brother and I have a million questions to ask. I think this would be an ideal game for Barron .

You should ship him out to a detox for a month . Nobody should live with the likes of that in this day and age .

I don't live in New York City, but if I did, I'd much sooner take advantage of one of the great downtown eateries before or after the game. If you're gonna spend 70 dollars on food, might as well be something that isn't hot dogs on a stale bun for 11 dollars.
Agreed. I don't think I have ever eaten at a Rangers game. I'm there to watch the game.

Baseball I could see, because it's outside, nice weather, more casual (there's 162 games!). At the movies, I certainly want my popcorn and sugary shit to go with it. Hockey is business.

I am often hungry afterwards for which you have literally every option in the world here.

I want one game before the year is up where we aren't discussing:
1. McKegg
2. Nemeth
3. McKegg and Nemeth
Me too... because that means they're not playing. Nemeth is tolerable... McKegg is painful

I can't believe I have to watch 3rd liner Gregg McKegg tonight. We're clearly in a playoff spot, why not see what we have in Barron and if he can contribute more than McKegg?

I wish we got MSL..

MSL for what?

I don't think he was going to come out of retirement to play on our 3rd line?

Surely you aren't suggesting him as our head coach when we have one of the most respected coaches in the league who currently has this team fighting for first place in one of the best divisions in the NHL...

Surely you aren't.

It's becoming increasingly odd that Barron is just sitting there for 3 weeks and not playing either top minutes in the AHL or any minutes in the NHL.

Especially when:

A. He's a big body, hasn't hurt this team defensively and has played well enough to get more of a look.
B. He's just as good or better than McKegg 5 on 5
C. They've trusted just about every young defenseman, including Hajek - which is more important position.

The only reason - and I mean the only reason I see sense to McKegg getting in the lineup over him is McKegg kills penalties and Barron doesnt. With Kakko out, they need another PKer.

If they dont intend to play him, at least a couple games here and there, send him down to get playing time as they have done with Jones, etc on D. Its like theres a completely different mindset when it comes to young forwards and young D.

Its even more puzzling that they've been on the East coast since the break. Its not like they are on a long trip out west and need to carry extra forwards. Covid has died down significantly.

He got just under 7 minutes against Florida on 2/1, the last time he played

At first, I figured they had him lying around for the covid boom but the covid boom ended several weeks ago.

I havent been too critical of Gallant considering their record - but I just dont get how McKegg could be elevated anywhere in this lineup when he doesnt really give this team anything other than good PK time.
His pk time is nothing special. We have plenty of guys who play that role as well or better. Bench him already.

I realize that coach Gallant has more information than I will ever have as far as the team. How they practice, nagging injuries that some players might be playing through, discussions he's had with the players and assistant coaches, etc. But, still, these line are puzzling at best. I think Chytil on the wing with Strome and Panarin would be worth a good look at least.
