We are very lucky Vancouver is a mess right now
I think Kopitar prefers to play the way he does. Coaches get too much credit and blame for what players do.
I don't think Terry Murray had that big an impact on how Kopitar plays.
Kopitar was aware he had to bring something else to the game besides scoring.
So he worked on that part of his game to his own detrement. He had been playing this way for so long now , he simply prefers it.
Well, there's always the moral victory to look forward to in the 3rd.
You're right. He prefers to play the system that has been drilled in his head. He epitomizes what has been so successful for the Kings. You get caught up in his offense. He is probably the best defensive center in hockey. As his defense went up, his offense went down. That's not to say he has not played great offense. Even with his defense he would be a PPG player on any other team in hockey. In regards to his offense, he has also been hampered by failed conversions on his passing. He is on another level in in his ability to get his passes through under heavy pressure. He is the best overall center in hockey. There simply isn't anyone who does what he does.
On the plus side Vey and Pearson are looking pretty good. Don't know why they weren't with the team sooner.
Wow. The boys really need a mental break. Olympics can't come soon enough.

This is just not a championship caliber team.
Anyone who thinks they are is either in denial, a homer or both.
I think next year with the cap up they can add the pieces needed to get back to that level, but right now they have one consistent offensive player.
Pearson looks like garbage.....he needs another year in the AHL.

I've never seen a team go from top-2 to a complete joke in a month like this...and their coach and GM just sit on their hands.
