Horrible cycles, way too much miscommunication. No support.

No one went to the net on any play. No screening, no crashing the net. Too many plays to the corner. Very bad period.

Well... I'm glad I missed most of it

Hopefully a better 2nd period... Our 'gameplan' doesn't work if we're not outskating/out working our opponents.

That forecheck is embarrassing

Why is everyone ripping Quinn for the team being terrible (I didn't watch yet) for an entire period? Like grown men making millions of dollars are incapable of putting forth a better effort at literally any point, its all up to the coach with his effort dial on the bench or something.

I say some level of this a lot, but it's lot of blame to someone not on the ice.

Were we not losing 2-0 after the first against the Flyers before scoring 7 in the second?

If this remains 0-0 going into intermission, I don’t see us starting the second at this level of sad.

We weren’t losing, but also I’m not referring to those games.

Last week, NYR were still around a 22% probability clip of making the playoffs heading into the game vs NYI and the first tilt vs PHI.

They were crushed by NYI and then couldn’t generate anything after an opening goal against PHI. We lost both and now have about a 4% probability clip.

But still, we are playing a game we MUST win. And you see the performance. It’s been on par with the performances against Carolina in the qualifying round last year. It’s been on or with those two games last week.

it doesn’t matter if we are playing the best teams, or not. It’s pretty evident this team plays right and cannot generate anything offensively in playoff-esque games.

The team doesn't forecheck at all and avoids hard areas of the ice --> THE COACH IS BAD, like what

Do y'all think they get Alzheimer's after every game and straight forget what's necessary to win NHL hockey games? Professionals at the top of their game who also have crippling memory problems? If only David Quinn would remind them before the game starts, the Rangers would be a top 10 team?

because he's the coach? The low energy Rangers are torture. Jekyll and Hyde all season.

Team looks like they are doing whatever they want

I'm in the minority, but the issue that period for me was crispness, execution, and decision-making, not effort.

If I thought the team wasn't skating hard I'd agree- but we were just playing poorly and making poor choices.

These games are obviously great for such a young team. And I absolutely understand that there are going to be bouts of bad play when things get pressurized.

But...like...they’re not aggressive mistakes. They haven’t created anything in these games. At least in the 3-2 loss to PHI last week they just botched a bunch of easy chances. At least they created a few things. Every other game, by a measure of needing to win/pressure, they’ve just done nothing. Doesn’t matter if it’s the Hurricanes or the Sabres.

We're just way too easy to play against. It's embarrassingly soft

In all zones but our positioning/stick work is good-great in the d-zone
