Game 50 @ misplaced Atlanta team

$35.1 million is a nice chunk of change, but it's nothing compared to twabby's invaluable Game Puck. I am proud to present it to Logan Thompson for another splendid effort in net.

Honorable mentions to Ethen Frank, PLD, TVR, and Dylan Strome.

It is weird, I think a lot of us agree that recently they’ve been looking the worst they’ve played all season but they’re winning pretty much all of their games. Big credit of course to LT over this period of time, he’s basically been God.
The Caps are definitely coasting a bit. maybe a bit bored. You don’t want to poke this bear. When they want to play, they are just good. Would hope someone like McMichael would not be bored and would be giving his best effort like he did the other night.

Wow. OV saying he hopes Caps sign Chucky. That is telling. But they Brent and Tarik talking about Chucky being able to get a similar deal, but Caps won’t commit that much (12M) to goaltending. I don’t want the caps to do that either. But i also don’t see a world where Chucky get 5.5M+. I had him at 2.5M per on short deal. maybe it take $4M on short term deal. That would be $10M in goaltenders which i don’t love, but man has goalie been a big strength for Caps this year. So maybe.

Still pisses me off to no end that they couldn't get Holtby sole possession of the win record in that last game of the season
I think his last game of that regular season was the 2nd to last game in St. Louis. He got something like a 3-0 shutout with Brodeur in the press box. Holtby had a shot that season to win 50, and even at 48 no goalie looks to touch that for many years because no goalies play 66 starts in a season anymore.

No team is giving Chucky more than $4 million per if at all.

Lindgren falls somewhere between Backup and Starter. He can give you 20-30 quality starts a season, but I don't think he's a goalie that will take you deep. His next contract will reflect that; probably somewhere in the $2-3 mil range over 2-3 years is appropriate. If he makes it to FA and another team offers a lot more, the Caps will likely walk away.
