poor bob must be exhausted saying the same words over and over

We have gone from fighting for the division banner to hoping for a playoff spot in my eyes. I'm usually an optimist but I just don't see a light at the end of this tunnel right now. This looks like a first-round exit team. A good team with faults.

I think in a 7 game series we stack up well against the sharks, or really any pacific team.
I do not think we are a first round exit team, but I think something needs to be added just to change **** up, and light a fire under the players that are still here.

If the PP stays as bad as it is, this is a first round exit team, at best

As long as we have the Mitchell, Regehr, Doughty of 2014 shooting all these point shots, we are going to continue to struggle. This system would be a whole lot better with guys on the point who can shoot the puck, but of late we haven't had that.

Maybe, but this feels a whole hell of a lot more like a "make the playoffs and anything can happen" team than a drivers-seat sort of team. Not seeing any fire and the PP needs to stop actively losing us games.

There are typically less penalties called in the playoffs so that should help offset, but I do agree that the PP needs to improve. I think it will.
Showed signs of improving against Detroit.

So glad Carter and Kopi are still on the same line. Split them up already. It's been f'ing weeks now and it's clearly not working.

Pretty much. And with this system you need a lot of energy to be successful or you fail badly. And that's what the kings are doing.

The problem is 90% of the shots are coming from the points. Mix it up in a while, freakin try some cross ice one timers...The lack of creativity is mind boggling.

Seriously? It's 1st intermission.

The Kings have scored more than 2 goals three times in their last thirteen games. They are 23rd in goals per game, and have the 24th ranked PP. This isn't a one period problem, this team has severe issues

One thing I notice is the there seems to be hesitation when the shots are taken. Allowing defenders to get in the way and the goalie to get in position. Puck movement needs to be crisp tape to tape in order to get quick shots off.

The PP can't suck, and give up a SH goal. One or the other.

Kopitar, Carter, Richards, Brown, Williams, Doughty, Voynov. Some combination of that should get you some PP goals. It doesn't even have to be #1. I don't imagine the coaches teach shooting into the feet of defenders. I can't imagine they tell the players not to go to the net. They can't possibly say just stand around. No coach would say that. Every coach alive says nothing if not move your feet.

The PK is all about hard work. If you match that effort with the extra guy, you can score a goal. The Kings just don't seem to match that effort on anywhere near a consistent basis.

They look a lot like system players, instead of hockey players. That's what scares me about our group in Manchester as well. A lot of group effort and no real individual talent, just a really small amount which is scary because you are in a much harder league in the NHL

Put Williams back with Kopitar and Carter with Richards. Too many forwards have been struggling since the line shakeups, only line looking alive is King-Stoll-Lewis.
