Seems like people are arguing for one narrative, when they all work. Is DS bad at adding NHL guys? Sure. Is Clode too stubborn and even with a less than perfect line-up should be able to get a 8th spot with the talent present? I think so. Did management screw up on guys like Boychuck, Seidenberg, and Seguin? Of course, hindsight is 20/20.

There's plenty of blame to go around. If all three weren't here to start next season, I wouldn't be surprised.

But as much as I admire Clode, I wouldn't give him a pass. The DET and CHI games are all to familiar...and I can't put those games on the Nashs of the world. The high end talent the Bruins have put them in position to get it done- they just aren't/and faceplant. To me, that points to leadership on the ice and behind the bench.

The players aren't responding.

Bergy yelled "save Clode!" ...and they responded with a collapse, a dud, and a pasting. Doesn't seem healthy.

Morrow was a plus and all other d men minus. Hmmmm. Good lord this management team can't properly assess the right players to be playing. Seguin Mcquaid and Nash highligf this obvious fact.

Pens had them on the run, not surprisingly, for the majority of the game. So often they are completely lost in coverage in their own zone that directly leads to goals. Yesterday was no different. Pens are deep and it shows.

It's hard to tell sometimes if you observe poor play by an individual player because it is just that or you watch the player too closely to confirm what you thought was happening. Seem to watch Kreiji, among others, who flop around like a fish out of water in front of their own goal as if they were the keeper. It usually follows a bad turnover or puck watching that created a mad scramble in the first place. For a player that was considered to generally be more of an asset than a liability in his own zone it has been anything but for DK this season.

Well I see DK got a goal. I don't know WTF is wrong with him, he should be 100% recovered from his surgery by now. I gave him a pass for the first half but I'm starting to worry about him now. :help:

He had a terrible start, but he's got 10 goals in his last 37 GP, which is pretty much Krejci regular season pace.

His assist numbers are down (15 in his last 37 GP). I think it's fair to say a struggling Bruins PP and line-mates not exactly suited to finishing are a contributing factor, although some of it is directly on Krejci as well.

The Bruins should be in full blown sell mode

Yes; given our odds to make the playoffs...start putting up the for sale sign on a lot of pieces. The sooner some of the pieces are gone, the faster our record will plummet, I suspect. Not that I am a fan of tank-mode, but the higher pick we can get, the better.

Id wait until at least our 4 game homestand coming up after the break.
We play the leafs during that stretch. See where we are after that.

If I remember correctly wasn't he like 7th in Selke voting one year? It's odd, even paired with Backes that line has been abysmal in their own zone all season.

can someone tell me why we didnt put a claim on mcelhinney??

If memory serves, the pecking order for waiver claims goes from the bottom up in the standings. Since the Leafs were lower than the Bruins when he was waived, they got him.

Boston may well have put a claim in, but we'll never know.

that's what I thought, but it goes by win% and the leafs had a better one at the time.

Interesting, thanks. I was wondering that especially this year with teams having so many games in hand if just going by points was fair.

As desperate as the B's backup goalie situation is, I figured they'd pass on Halak due to salary and term. But I believe Mcelhinney is only making $800,000, so he'd have definitely been an affordable upgrade (assuming they could make it work with the cap).

This is definitely going to be the year the Bruins just squeak into the playoffs.

And I don't mean because they will deserve it.....

I can see a bunch of fringe teams spiraling down and the B's just making it in by a hair only to get embarrassed in the first round by a real contender.

It is definitely going to happen, you'll see.

Why?

Because that is just the way things go for this team in this situation.

He also had a horrible turnover in the Red Wings game that lead to a backbreaking goal. In regards to Morrow, it's not the management team, it's the player. He shows you flashes but then he goes and does something really dumb. At 24 and being up and down from the AHL/NHL since he was 19, I think he pretty much is what he is at this point.

Chris Kelly > Joe Thornton, Daniel Sedin, Pavel Bure, Cam Neely

He's the only one of the bunch with his name on a cup as a player. There are lots more namrs you can cherry pick from, but no matter how great a player you are, you still need to surround yourself with good players.
