Wonderful "pass to himself" sent to open ice ahead of the defender and retrieved by Holloway, in perfectly-timed stride, on his way to driving on net! But, unfortunately, De Smith stopped his shot.

CGY up by 2 going into the 3rd. If the Blues fall 2 more points behind them their chances of catching them is looking pretty bleak.

Better 2nd Period by The Blues, but they couldn't get a shot past De Smith, and were blocked out from spending tome in front of their net by the disciplined Dallas defence. Not a good sign for catching up in The 3rd.
 
Looked like at the end of the period, all the lines were thrown in the blender and they came out with Bolduc benched again. Meanwhile, Buch still doing nothing. When CGY pulls away, I hope we give these kids a real shot.

And the Avs decide Rantanen will cost too much and trade one of the best in the game. Meanwhile, the Blues hang on to Buch last spring AND give him $8.0m / 6yr AAV. Winning franchise moves vs a loyal move. Buch already looking bad at current $5.8m.

This game and team has been beyond frustrating to watch. They give you hope because they clearly have a solid team that shows effort and skill but will have something preventing a win when they often have outplayed the other team.

Every loss it feels like it’s a different thing but the one overall consistent is goaltending. We have seen early goals way too much this season that puts the team in a hole that changes the way the entire game is played. Both Binner and Hofer have been simply bad this season

i still got high hopes for buchy .. but i hear ya

It’s a shame Bolduc looked good on that line earlier but Monty likes to shorten the bench down in the third. Wish he would allow some chemistry to develop with that line.

Edit: Bolduc out there getting some chances nice!
