agree.....but i think the intention was there, I refuse to believe that the current klingberg is who he thought he was signing (and klingberg has a lot to play for/prove this season), but it seemed like he did a good job (at face value) insulating and trying to shore up the d core at the time

I dunno. There's a reason Dallas didn't want to keep Klingberg. Klingberg had 47 points, -28 rating, 47.9 CF%, 43.5 FF%, and 66.1% OZ starts. We lost two defensive stalwarts in Lindholm and Manson, but Klingberg was one of his solutions?

Regenda was signed Jun 1st. FA started July 1st. Vatrano was signed on July 13th. Strome signed on July 14th.

Verbeek said he wanted a shorter term deal with Klingberg, but Klingberg wanted a longer term. ::: cough, Lindholm, cough ::: We're fortunate that Klingberg chose us for only a one-year deal on July 29th. I expected not-so great defense, but I dunno how Klingberg is an offensive player aside from a derogatory description of his play.

Kulikov was acquired on Aug 31st as a salary dump by the Wild. I believe Kulikov has a worse plus/minus rating than Drysdale. Then there's White and Beaulieu.

The forwards fit the team, but the blueliners don't. No physicality or true shutdown quality. Why are we carrying 8D? Because we don't know how the players will pan out.

I think he's being a bit too passive at times as if he's trying to fit in and be nice b/c he's the new kid. He's got a shot, but refusing to shoot it. In five games, McTavish has 0g + 4a = 4 pts with a period left in the fifth game. ::: damn, that is Getz' description :::

Not yet. We're only 4 and 2/3rd games into the season. He's already had one blind drop pass turnover in regulation. The pedigree is there... unfortunately.
