Game #5: Kings vs. Blues 10/16/14 - All hail Quick! Kings shutout Blues 1-0

Well now that Quick has effectively beaten/matched every Kings record now, I ask you:

Is Jonathan Quick in the top 50 for greatest NHL goalies of ALL TIME? Top 30?
 
Win or lose that was a great 0-0 game, tough and physical play with stellar goaltending on both sides. Blues were sharper but Quick just wasn't gonna let anything by him tonight. The team owes him dinner or something. Doughty was awesome too.
 
I could totally see the Blues right now in the locker room (school of circle) and them saying to themselves "Seriously, we lost that game ?"

Kings needed that win against a contender to fully shake off that rust. Kinda ugly and required Quick to be perfect, but still a win. Take that into Sunday and burn down the Wild.
 
Quick stole that one for sure :D

anyone else sick of all the idiots in the background on the post game show? I wish they'd move it indoors

Figured tonight would look like this after the Jets and Oilers but props to the Blues for relentlessness.

Everyone should buy Quick's dinner tonight! I mean everyone! Players, Coaches, Trainers, Equipment people, the Janitor!!!!!!
 
Congrats on a win. I'm starting to think the only way the Blues can finally beat you is if someone Tanya Hardings Quick. If we meet in the playoffs, I'll take one for my team :)

Seriously, you guys have 2 cups now, you can't loan him to us for a year? Please?

The Blues were working on their golf game for the last 4 days while the Kings played two games. It showed at times which team looked rested.
 
Wow. That was a nail biter. Great game by the Blues but they failed to capitalize on the million power plays we gave up. Doughty looking sharp as ever and Quick with the robbery. Hard earned two points but I'll take them happily.

Maybe, but that was one dominant performance. That team is a legit Stanley Cup contender.

You can always tell early on when Quick is zoned in or not. When he's 50% goalie, and 50% athlete, damn near nothing is going to go in the net. When the athlete starts taking over in a game, that's when the Kings have to score a bunch to win.

The home and home with the Blues on December 16th and 18th should be must watch.
