To me this looks like Garland did try to chip it up the boards, although blindly. He likely sensed Theodore coming right behind him. Garland really wasn't open.

Goose looks at the VGK when he's still in front of the net. Then puts his head down and sends it blindly up the boards. He had time, he didn't have to panic.

Goligoski had all the time in the world there and made a shitty play. That's on him. He has to know VGK forecheckers are waiting on his outlet forward.

He has been doing no look backwards passes every game this year, sometimes into the slot.

Park him.

Man I would love to see him get the Tort's treatment. Publicly benched after plays like that.

So many bad decisions with the puck. He panics everytime he senses someone could possibly make contact with him. And his go to is a weak pass/chip in. At best they end up in a puck battle we usually lose. At worst it's an odd man rush.

He does it in the o zone too. The puck will come to him at the blue line, an opposing player comes towards him and he immediately chips it weakly away. Up the board into a puck battle we lose or cleanly to the other team.

The forum collectively hates on Goose every year, but at the end of the year every year, he's been seen as a net positive. He has definitely been awful to start the season, but with 51 games left (max), I'm not terribly worried. It'd be fun to see him sit a game to get his ahead straight and let Capo get back in. Soderstrom should stick based on his play tonight.

Garland looks around the room at Schmaltz, Keller, and Kessel and says......sure I'm willing to talk long term contract.
