Ugly game capped off with a beautiful performance by Poitras. Great goaltending yet again and the breakout game, scoring wise, by a kid that surely will be staying up with the Bs now. Hard work is paying off for him.

Carlo was the best d-man for the Bs. Jake honorable mention after Poitras when it comes to the forwards. Good response game from him after missing last game.

Geekie a mixed bag the way I saw it. Did a lot of good things and a few bad things. Happy to see him continuing to gel with the team. I thought Jake was excellent in trying to push the play and being physical. Looked great with Poitras.

And in tonight's episode of Happy Days, Potsy goes to Disneyland. Grumpy Gudas chases him around and Zippy Zegras yaps his trap at him, but Potsy pots a pair and hugs a goalie to boot.

Team got slower in the offseason but their puck movement seems to negate a lot of the negative effects that come with that.

But they also look a helluva lot bigger to me. More apt to win net-front battles in the offensive zone. Inflicting their will down low and forcing the puck into high danger areas seemingly much more effectively.

And of course, they are locked in defensively.

No way I deal Swayman or Ullmark now. I get the argument, but I think they make each other better and you won’t get the stellar play with one of them gone.

Five games in and I have zero complaints

Poitras gets himself in good areas so often, and despite his fairly small stature that includes mucking around the net and battling along the boards. Smart and fearless. Great to see his excitement after scoring his first. This is why we watch the sport.

Have our expectations for this team changed or is it still far too early? I know we are all on the “ just make the playoffs “ train but they might actually be able to make some noise in the playoffs.
