It’s frustrating, more frustrating because the efforts are there, so it’s like what else do they have to do ?

That line at ES , along with the PP should have all had multi-point nights.
it’s a young line with a ton of talent… playing a new system under a new coach… def going to be some growing pains, its a good thing they are dominating as much as they are…. Just keep doing what they are doing and the points will start flowing.

Terry and zegras both seem a bit rusty offensively

wonder if they sit carlsson for this one

hopefully killorn takes jones's spot in the lineup. guy just isn't good at anything. silfverberg at least still has the brains and knows where to be despite not being able to move

Wheres our monkey bazooka man….

My hopes
Bruins take more PIMs than ducks
<35 shots against
Top line gets a goal

Hampus doesn’t score since I would be conflicted

Honestly, I'd say we are pretty much exactly where I expected us to be at this point in time. Growing pains with that many rookies and sophomores plus a new coach with a new system plus some injuries just had to be expected.

However, it looks very much as though Cronin immediately meshed better with his players than his predecessor and that he installs a system, that takes advantage of most of our players' strengths.

Just give it some time, and I don't worry if we are 5-15 after 20 games or so. "The trend is your friend", and I am completely sold on this team trending up, probably faster and steeper than some might think.

We'll probably be competitive in every game for G20-60 and then wear out a lot at the end after dealing away veterans at the TDL. The way it's looking now, I'd expect us to pick somewhere between #8 and #12 next year, and that ought to be the last lottery pick for about a decade or so, because I sincerely believe we'll be a perennial Playoff team from 2024-25 on and a contender from around 2026-27 on.

Special Teams will be the death of this squad.
The power play will figure it out at some point… too much talent on it.

I think strome and terry need to go to 2nd unit… and throw mctavish or vatrano on top unit.

Vatrano mctavish carlsson
Mintyukov zegras
- gives carlsson and zegras shooters

Strome henrique terry
Fowler drysdale(luneau if drysdale ain’t playing)
- allows terry to be the main facilitator

I think the pk has looked better, a lot more pressure this year on the puck… I just don’t know if we have the right players for the pk yet… also we’re taking way too many penalties this year… and a lot of what I’d call “not good” penalties.

  • 2021-22 season, new PP coaches (Ward and Brown) and new PK coach (Stothers)
    • First four games: 2-2-0 (4 pts)
    • PP: 4/12 (33.3% efficiency) <-- This would likely be #1 or top-3 in the league
    • PK: 3/19 (84.2% efficiency)

In our 8-game winning streak at the beginning of that season, our PP went 9/29 (31.0% eff) and PK was 1/16 (93.8% eff).

  • 2022-23 season, PP coaches (Brown) and PK coach (Stothers)
    • First four games: 1-3-0 (2 pts)
    • PP: 2/12 (16.7% efficiency)
    • PK: 6/16 (62.5% efficiency)

Longest win streak in 2022-23 was a 3-game winning streak. We lost three PK guys in the 2021-22 TDL in D Lindholm, D Manson, and F Des. On the PP, we added Mac, Vatrano, Strome, and D Klingberg.

  • 2023-24 season, PP coaches (Brown) and new PK coach (Thompson) - Stothers is a special asst.
    • First four games: 1-3-0 (2 pts)
    • PP: 1/12 (8.3% efficiency)
    • PK: 7/22 (68.2% efficiency)

We're slightly better than last year's start on the PK. That's an improvement.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Leo is healthy scratched but as long as he plays Tuesday. Big game!

Is there something wrong with using eggplant over plum? Why is the org afraid of big eggplant energy? :naughty:

Back to back , rookie. Don’t think he should but not sure how Cronin will treat the rookies.
Does he have a history of benching rookies on back-to-backs or is this just misconstrued speculation being carried over because @DuckDuckGetz thought Eakins did this with Z and Dysdale as rookies?

Just seems like an odd thing to bring up for no real reason to believe it'll happen.

I think the better thing to cite is Verbeek saying he'd been in Anaheim all year but isn't sure if that'll be every game.

It'll be interesting to see how he holds up in a back to back situation if he does draw in.

In somewhat unrelated news I've been staring at Carlsson jerseys and if they weren't 250 dollars I'd probably have pulled the trigger already. I'm still considering it; maybe after my next paycheck.

:monkey: With a bazooka, round 4. Let’s make it a little harder for them.

Outscore Boston at ES

Top line scores 1+ goals

Hold Boston to 30 shots or less

1+ fights

Have more PP than the other team that the officials despise

Score the 2nd goal for the season on the PP

Bonus scoring - boards

Hit 30+ pages in the GDT -

Make @Leonardo87 squirt beverage of his choice out his nose

A post pithy enough to score 20+ likes (other than the 1st post)

Missing that net front presence which Killorn somewhat is
Yep I imagine he’ll be that guy on top unit, and by default should improve our 2nd unit by pushing someone down.

I think killorn is going to help us run 3 healthy lines when he returns (Lundy in over groulx will be a massive improvement also). I hope the plan is to move Henrique and silf at deadline(if silf has any value). Groulx can become a 13th forward. And if we do get injury issues, regenda gaucher and perreault and nester can start getting looks.

I went and bought an Orebro jersey of his. Was cheaper than our jersey’s over here and maybe I’ll get some cool points

Frustrated after last night's game, that I just finished, but I take this kind of frustration 10 out of 10 times compared to the frustrations of the past few seasons. Enjoying what I'm seeing so far with this team. Also I wasn't prepared how good Minty and Leo would be already so far. Let's go!
