I mean, who knows though. Maybe he was dinged up just a bit and a day or two of rest would put him at 100%. But if it's truly just to let him rest because uh, 18 year olds don't have as much energy as a 33 year old, then yeah, I'm a bit upset too.

Well it's hard to say how much closer Mario Lemiuex would've been if not for injuries and cancer plus never having as good a team as the 80s Oilers. In Orr's case his career was cut short; but not just as a defenseman, the guy was obscenely dominant at the sport. With Orr you kind of have to get into some strained comparisons given different eras of the sport and different positions. How many more points a season would Orr have had if he was a forward. Stuff like that.

I would still say Gretzky fairly comfortably but the camps that argue for Orr and Lemiuex aren't entirely without merit.
