Safety issue. If you allow guys to kick it in, scrums in front would become deadly.

It's to make sure guys don't just kick at the goalie on loose pucks, which would be very dangerous

It doesn’t force him to be more offensive- it just makes him play his natural position-

Nah, Nuge gets a little too comfortable deferring to his wings or centreman.

He can do that with McDavid and Hyman, or even Podz and Arvidsson. But he can't do that with Janmark and Brown.
