Box score shows only 13.2 at the game. Terrible

I always laugh at people who can somehow, someway find the negative in everything.

I suppose that's one of the reasons I hang around here...I mean, hell, I'm laughing now.

However many were there, they were loud, they were engaged, and it was a great time away from the frigid temperatures outside...probably the most fun I've had on a weekday game since the beating of the redwings on NBCSN in late March 2012.

But I guess it's more fun for some to count heads and shake fingers. Me? I'll just be over here, counting wins...

Great team win, scoring goals is becoming much easier for these guys. Rough start, couple bad penalties by the young guys, but overall a pretty strong game against a good, but battered, team.

Hell of a pass by Murray on Joey's goal.

Midweek game against a non-division and non-conference opponent with whom there is absolutely zero history with outside of a trade two years ago, plus conditions that put a damper on what would have been a pretty solid walk-up crowd otherwise.

This is like what we'd expect from the previous dozen years with games against Carolina or Florida.

What a game. I love how these guys are playing right now. Everyone is going and it is contagious.

Some pretty plays tonight...Murray to Joey. Horty's roof job and Arty strong to the net. Umby earning his paycheck tonight!

The only gripe is that Carter still has his teeth.

Okay, so as the wins pile up the officially sanctioned *****es are about attendance and that RJ is on a pace for only 22 goals. Do I have it right?

I haven't read through the thread yet, but one thing stuck out to me in particular on the Horton goal. As the other forward, Cam I think, came off the ice, Horton hit the ice driving his feet hard and skated hard into his own end to deliver a check on the far boards. he then somehow was able to get back into position to rush the ice the other way and get the goal on the same shift.

It was marvelous, really. You could sense that he wanted to do something extra that shift. Frankly, he had really been fighting it most of the game to that point. Fun to see.

Leftovers:

Wiz is really earning his points right now. Great patience on the breakout on Johansen's goal, and on the first goal he is effectively shooting it off Umberger's stick. Umberger was in front with his stick in place and Wiz put it in the exact right spot.

Calvert I think had a straight up bad game. Bad penalty, the worst giveaway of the game, and was off the puck too easy.

On the ****** goal where three Jackets got in a jumble, I think it's mostly Dubi's fault. Nikitin had pinched earlier and Dubi covered for him, but instead of waiting for Nikitin to get back before going forward, Dubi took a gamble on rushing forward.. and ran directly into the retreating Nikitin.

Jenner and Dubinsky I thought set the tone. They each had a shift where they wrecked several Kings. That does a lot for the team, helping us outmuscle one of the burliest teams in the league.

I thought Dubinsky, Cam, and Calvert were all bad tonight, tbh. Sure Dubi brought the energy and hitting, but he seemed complacent all night.

That was a boneheaded penalty early by Calvert. He blocked a shot what looked like was off his ankle in the second and wasn't the same after.

If only Jeff Carter had given south campus a chance. So many sorority girls, so little time.

He did plenty of campus trolling, haha. I saw him, Nash, Boll and Aaron Johnson at all the OSU tailgates at the VC.

I've had the pleasure of attending four games this year: Toronto, NYI, TB, and Warshington. I was surprised at how empty N'wide was for a Friday game against the Leafs, but on the other hand I thought the crowd for the Lightning game was great, especially for Cowtown on a Monday night. I've also noticed that the fat cat seats that are empty and in plain view from my living room are not indicative of some of the good crowds that make up the upper bowl many recent evenings.

Personally, it's the effort that sells the game for me. We've had teams in years past that had veteran talent--not a ton of it, but some--yet little passion. This group seems to have heart in spades. There have been a couple of stompings (4-0 Darth Vader, 5-2 STL, and that colossal goat---- in Edmonton), but I'd say most of the losses have been the other team's skill rather than a lack of CBJ effort, like when Evander Kane scored on that laser shot last month. The same tired Caps team (third game in four nights) that came to town Friday would have blown out the 2011-2012 Jackets, but this team generally works too hard to allow something like that to happen.

After so much losing over the years I am thirsty for the kool-aid, and will continue to refill my cup as often as possible. The draft picks are finally starting to pan out and the effort is there, so I hope people will take notice and try to make it down to a game or two this year.

He's really going to be something when he gets his legs, he's in the middle of training camp still for all purposes, I look for him to really be rolling when the Olympic break ends and we get in the stretch run!

I might know what Brass means. Sometimes Dubi just wants to be a badass and I wonder if he cares enough what end result comes about.

I completely disagree, I'm not sure there is anyone on the team that shows they want to win more or gets emotional after a loss more than Dubi
