Yeah it’s not all doom and gloom. Staios has to do a great job here.
And exactly. Tkatchuk and batherson should be slotted there.

When were look at Brady to fight, hit, take over shifts, produce offense, play great defence, it’s just setting him up for failure. And honestly stu as well. Ideal stu and tkatchuk are our second and third best forwards

Stutzle is an elite talent but he has a very poor supporting cast compared to other superstars. And while his overall game is really improving, you can see all the bad habits from having to do it all by himself. At least before, Giroux was still pretty high end…

Just having a little bit more of offensive ability would give us so many more pts in the standings, even when we don't play good enough to win. Just convert on some chances. That said, we were not very luck last night with 3 posts and the disallowed goal from Stutzle after the whistle. K0rpisal0 also played well.

lol Chabot is a very RARE Senators player who drives the play offensively.

Unless our aspirations is to be better than Buffalo, this is absolutely concerning... This is the 8th season since Melnyk decided we would go into a full rebuild. Missing or making the playoffs by a point isn't exactly a high bar.
Chabot is shite. I hope his days are numbered

He’s an elite talent. But not sure he has the killer mentality to be a 100 point guy year after year after year.

He needs someone better than him to take the Heat off

He simply does not elevate the people around him YET.

He's terrible. He should move to the wing. And we all know he doesn't have any room left to improve, because he's so old. Probably trade him now for whatever we can get before it's too late. He's 23 years old and will only get worse. Boat anchor contract. Is this how done?

No, that is not how it is done. Too many points made for the sarcasm intended.

I don't think reviews make sense, but f furlotte and his utter incompetence
They said on the broadcast that Brady was hitting Korpi's pads which may have caused the puck to come loose behind Korpi, but the whistle had already been blown. The play is automatically dead at that point so can't be reviewed or challenged.

Well, 100 points year after year is asking a lot, very few guys are like that. Marner turns 28 soon and doesn't even have a 100 pts season yet.

Right now, Stutzle is a PPG 2-way Center still developing but we'll need him to be a little more than that. Keep in mind he has more pts than McKinnon at the same age. I think I looked at it recently and IIRC, he has the 9th most u-23 Points among all active players, that's freaking impressive.

Problem is he doesn't play with Makar, Rantanen or guys like Landeskog, Nichuskin, etc. The supporting cast is very different. The other problem is he has gone to SHITTY schools so far in a discombobulated environment. Green looks like legit NHL coaching but not sure how efficient our 2-way can be. As of now we are heavily STRUGGLING to score goals, something that most teams, even half as talented, can do.

He needs to be surrounded properly, but at the same time, we are notorious for not properly surrounding our stars... Karlsson, Chabot, etc. How and when Karlsson had Stone and Duchene, look how long he could play with them in the end.

Chabot is shite. I hope his days are numbered

lol yeah, like Duchene was shite, Spezza was shite, Zibanejad was shite, Gustavsson was shite. I could go on and on.

This team management, culture and coaching has been sooooooo good for so long... it's the players for sure.

We had no issue generating chances 6 on 5 a couple games ago.
Well, Norris and Jensen were in the line-up and scored the 2 goals. Hopefully things look up when they come back. Sandy is expected to be back for Saturday.

this isn’t the first time they’ve dried up and last time it wasn’t cuz it was the playoffs? While being in the hunt we went 5-0-1.

They’re not scoring because they are incapable of doing it consistently. Simple as.

No one thinks they can score unless it’s an open net. And they’re not wrong. But I would prefer they shoot rather than whatever the passing is.

Yes and stutzle scored 39 2 years ago. Things happen every once in a while.
Wasn't that when he was on the wing? Can't remember which season he was switched to C.

They played a good away game & were in it right to the end until Chabot gave the puck away again. They need to get healthy, all the injuries are adding up. Were injured but came back Amadio, Zub, Forsberg, Chabot & Perron. There are a lot of injuries to players this yr.

Injured Forwards - Norris, Gregor
Injured Defencemen - Sanderson, Jensen, Hamonic, JBD
Injured goalie - Ullmark

On another note, people have said we have no depth yet Sebrango came in & played well in his two games. Matinpalo & Ostapchuk have also been very good & Merilainen came in & was great in net for a number of games. But we need our starters to get healthy & come back to work & when our best players to start putting the puck in the net. They are hanging right in there, but need some puck luck soon.
The issue is very little offensive production from the top 6 with only 1 player out. Ironically, even though missing 2 of the top 4 D they still only allowed 1 GA (Forsey also had a great game). What are the odds that all of the forward group goes cold at the same time?

Sure stutzle can still develop. But I’m debating what the team is right now. And why we can’t score. And it’s because stutzle is not what some seem to think. And neither are our other forwards

There is a need to improve the top 6. There is a need to improve the offensive capability of the top 4 D. This team is competing for a playoff spot, which is progress but the roster remains in need of attention.

I am not impressed by Staios' additions of Perron and Amadio. They are not the answer. I am also concerned about Ullmark; he seems to have injury issues which are of concern with his new $8M long term contract.

Agreed, & yet they are two pts out of 3rd place, let's hope for a great weekend & they move up another spot or two. Have a great weekend.
