This is Shesterkin’s own fault I was saying it stop blinking stop milking it stop shaking your head I knew they were gonna grab him because of it. He’s gotta cut the shit in that situation
Why on earth would you think a goalie who is blinking is milking it?

He did with 6 secconds left
I know. He said in the postgame that he called the TO to run a play with 6 seconds left after a reporter asked him if he called a time out to buy time for Igor. Then he said he didn’t even think about that, but that’s a really good point. The guy seems clueless to me.

because I’ve done it a million times myself first of all. As vally said you gain space you get another call. It’s just part of it. But he’s gotta know in that spot to cut the shit. He was completely fine. He always milks contact that’s pretty clear

and yes as others have said he does it for focus all the time anyway but he’s gotta know they’re watching him there and he can’t be flexing his neck closing his eyes etc at that point. He prob learned a lesson tonight

I love K'Andre. How can you not? He is just such a mature young kid. Gaining confidence every day. It's great to see him finally come out of his shell and live a little. I couldn't be happier for him. It's just great to see that smile on his face. You could tell his teammates love him.

Who's to say he's being truthful in answering the question that way? Maybe the NHL has instructed teams not to try to stall or delay when a goalie is called into protocols. Who knows. Gallant also seems to like to play coy, and not really care what the media thinks.

Yeah, tight when they had to pull him I was yelling for a timeout. Time could easily have run out. I haven't seen the post game. They were just thinking no way he returns? I agree kind of bad game management.

I have been looking all over the internet for a clip of that "almost goal" by Fox last night. The one where he dips in through some Bruins and hits the post while falling down. If he had scored, that would have been on every highlight reel. That was so sweet, I am surprised that there isn't at least one clip of it out there.

Did the Jones-Schneider pairing look as good on TV as it did in person?
THey were good. Both made nice plays in the D zone, Jones put a good body shot on McAvoy, both show none of the reluctance to press up ice that Nils did. Both also benefited from now dragging Nemeth around like Nils did. I'm all for seeing if this can bee Fox-Lindgren 2.0

I can see the pair of Schneider and Zac for the next decade, but Chris Drury's gut is telling me one has 5 weeks left in a Blueshirt.

Rumor has it that Schneider and Jones like to sing, "Bad boys, bad boys, what you gonna do? What you gonna do when we're coming for you. Bad boys, bad boys..."

Such is the strength of their partnership. Not even Fox and Lindgren have that.

Some notes:

Coaches focus only on what they can control. If a guy gets injured the mentality, especially so in game, is next man up nothing we can do. Yes, here a TO would have worked, but it's a very unique situation at an important time of the game, GG was just focused on winning with the players had at the moment.

If Hunt had scored it likely would have been taken away, he clearly went backwards not sure what he was thinking there.

Not sure what Laf was trying to do on his attempt too....slip it under the pad? That's a 'lucky' goal if it works. Either go back 5 hole or lift the backhand over the pad, he was caught in between it seemed. Kinda cringe.

CK's Kucherov was slick, had he not shifted to his left after releasing the puck it would have gone 5 hole. Because he shifted the goalie followed him and it hit the pad.

Chytil's Forsburg was slick too, he just needed to do it a split second earlier so he could let the puck go farther towards the opposite post and one hand slide it in. Too in tight and had to redirect it a teensy bit too early and it ended up just catching the goalie's skate.

At least Strome did not try to jam it 5 hole without any moves....a positive?

Did any Boston players try to deke? After the first Boston player scored post and in off a shot with Igor deepish they all tried to just shoot. He seemed to adjust his angles though so it worked in his favor. He's so calm out there, not unbeatable but takes a near perfect shot/play to beat him. Even the goal in the 1st, he nearly kept it out. His one weakness is rebounds, even when he's on his game. His recovery is so so strong though. Hank was similar in that respect. The mentality seems to be to just focus on primarily keeping the initial shot out of the net and let athleticism deal with the aftermath. When he's on fire he's got very good rebound control though and swallows nearly every puck and redirects low shots properly. Igor not on fire is still Vezina worthy though, crazy. On fire he's Hart worthy. When he's cold (rare this year) his angles are a little off and he gets beat on nice straight wristers (Calgary). He's also money on breakaways, much harder for goalies and quicker developing. He's in relaxed mode standing straight up until the player is 12 feet away lol, daring them to rip it from 20 feet (no one dares). A real treat to watch!

Way more comfortable with their gaps and NZ presence, Nils need more NA experience where he won't get burned as much (AHL)

They've been better at everything other than shot volume.

Decisiveness is a big part of it. I've been particularly impressed with Schneider in this regard. Everything he does is done with conviction and he's reading the game properly which has shown in his play on ice. He's been better than McDonagh was when Mac got that call up during his rookie season. Whether or not he takes that next step and becomes a top pair all situations stud remains to be seen but the tools are there for that too.
