Pearson is supposed to be a top 6 forward. King is not.

Though I'm not surprised he is going through a slump. This is technically still his second year in the NHL and it is always difficult transitioning.

Again King has always averaged more mins then Pearson I think its fair to say it like this Pearson is top 6 offensively and King is top 6 defensively The kings play more defensive mins then offensive I will agree the 2nd year pro thing may be adding to it.

I think Nolan has shown more flashes of skill than Clifford. He's got the speed and puck protection skills, he just doesn't know what to do when he's in the offensive zone. He'll stickhandle into a corner and that's it. Never picks his head up. He's also become super quiet for almost a year and a half now.

FWIW that seems to have swapped back and forth a lot lately particularly with Pearson playing more PK time than ANY PLAYER last night.

That's why I think he's hurting, like Carter. The skating is fine, he's getting to the right places, he just can't do anything with the puck.

Nolan is for sure more 'dangerous' offensively with his moves and stutter steps but Clifford is by far the smarter player with much stronger puck possession. That's why he fits that role better and is much less of a liability. Nolan goes through games where he looks like Kopitar and others where he looks like he's TRYING to sabotage us.

it has been going back and forth and i think its because \sutter is seeing what i have been saying about King He needs his mins reduce and going with the better player at the moment. Which to me is pearson. If your asking me who should be playing more its Pearson but to me its almost like he doesn't have sutters trust defensively where King does However with nights on the pk like you say he may just earn it.

Still can't believe Hedman didn't get some kind of suspension/fine for that headshot on Clifford. Congrats, the guy will probably never be the same after that.

They aren't going to suspend a star like Hedman, but they'll always go after guys like Lucic.

That blows mind too, especially the whole sequence leading up to it showed just how intentional of a hit it was.

hes not very consistent. earlier this season he had played really well for a handful of games but hasnt done much since. Cliff plays the same game but is a little more dependable and less prone to taking penalties. hope he gets better soon

I agree, Clifford is more effective. Nolan is consistent -- at not scoring; not a single goal this season. If he could somehow think quicker, though, I think he would be a better player. The NHL just seems too fast for him, too bad for him.

Oh great. Enroth in net tonight? Anyone got some tranquilizers I can borrow so I don't stroke out watching him in net? It would be much appreciated. :snide:
