I mean seriously , does it get any better than this? Our 5'7 dman who's cooked detroit every game like they are beer leaguers is living so rent free I love it.

I love how he also takes a shot at Toronto , the lack of self awareness is staggering.

Detroit is building a mediocre team after a 6-7 year rebuild and I love it
My favorite take now is the other fans trying to force Cooley on us. And somehow with Cooley we’d be an unstoppable force. All the while teaching us that Hutson and Demidov are nothing special.

Post an update from their thread after Hutson’s 17 point game tonight

Them: You should have taken Cooley at 1OA he’s a franchise player. They would just gift you the Cup without playoffs.
Us: With hindsight, maybe we should have taken Hutson at 1OA.
Them: But, but, but…. Cooley already has X points.
Us: Yeah, Hutson has double digits more assists than Cooley and pacing him in points while being only a rookie D.
Them: No, you can’t do that. Hutson’s this,,, Hutson’s that….

Should be our toughest matchup so far. Detroit was winning a bunch after the coaching change (but they dropped a few recently), and this game is essential for them. If they lose, they are seven-point back with many teams to climb over. and at this point in the season, this would be a big challenge. They have been rebuilding forever, they need to win this.

I'm fine with Pezzetta back. Beck was not really moving the needle (which is totally normal for a 20-yr-old on hist first callup). You need to play your 13th forward when there is a need; this is important for team morale, which is important for team building and winning. I'm sure his teammates are rooting for him. Tonight will be a war, and Pezz is more likely to have an impact than Beck.
Beck was having more impact by playing twice the minutes of Pezz, even in a personal sequence of 4 games in 5 days. Also more impactful by not taking dumb penalties and not looking lost on the ice.

I don't get the loyalty toward Pezz. The guy sucks, who cares if he took well his non utilization like a good boy?

The only way he gets more than 4 min of ice time is if we win or lose by a lot.

Hanging in there for 800 games with no NHL level skills is actually incredible
I see this a lot, and I really have to disagree. Gallagher isn't able to dangle guys one on one in open ice, but his puck handling in tight is insane. Some of the stuff he does to win on the boards and make space to go to the net is top notch in my book. He also had a really good shot, specifically before his hands got shattered. He scored quite a few from distance despite his reputation. The guy is also the best puck deflector on the team and has been for some time. His game is not pretty by any means and he is definitely slowing down but I think it is a bit of a slap in the face to say that that Gallagher doesn't have NHL skills.

I haven't been this excited and invested in this team since the late 70s (I was very young...), 86 and 93.
My youngest daughter (13) has started watching all games with me from the beginning of the season and she's so into it! She's asking a million questions and I love it. I told her she picked a pretty good time to start watching because this team is going to be something else. It already started. So happy stressing out with her at the end of close games and double high fiving every goals and every wins. GHG !!!!
