Detroit is in the mix.
Detroit has a new coach and have been playing much better under him.
Detroit will remember the back-to-back losses they suffered to the Habs.
Detroit will be ready.

Detroit has also lost 3 in a row and risk going 7 points behind Montreal.

If their players have any desire for the post season, they will play this game like their season depends on it. Habs will have to match that urgency.

With tonight's results in...
Let's not forget Tampa Bay who is 3rd in our division with also 53 points in 46 games

Every games is a PO game now but tomorrow a win is very important cause there's 2 other games.
One of Ottawa or Boston will jump to 54pts
One of Philly or NYR will jump to 52 pts

I'm in Montreal Thursday night, staying near Place Ville Marie. I left almost 30 years ago so I'm sure a lot has changed. Where is the best place to watch the game, near me? Stations des Sports? McKibbins?

If anyone wants to meet up to watch the game, let's do it!

My point is that Monty has nothing to do with most of those wins, he's been an average goalie most of those games, usually mediocre in the losses. His stats before/after December 15th barely moved (.900 sv%/3.01 gaa vs 0.897 sv%/2.85 gaa irc) despite the defensive improvements that appeared after acquiring Carrier and the Habs reducing their -31 goal differential to -12 now.

And most of this board have called the people who made that Canada's roster idiots for subbing Suzuki already, not sure where you are going with that last sentence.

Sorry bud. I don't agree Monty had "nothing" to do with those wins. Monty has worked very hard to get to the level he is at and he is overperforming to that contract. Like it or not, he made team Canada and performed very well for them at the WC's.

I think you are being a little to hard on him.

Looking forward to this one. My wife's water broke about 10 seconds after Jake Evans goal and I missed the end of that game. Going to be watching tomorrow with a baby boy sleeping on my chest.

Congrats!

Did you get a baby jersey yet?

I think Monty and Primo had pretty starts, hence the team's bad start. His numbers are reflecting of that, with GAA and save %

That said, there have been games he has been the reason why we have won also...... he is having an interesting season, because at times, he has been all world, and at times, he has just been plain bad.

From what I have noticed, the bad games are very bad and the good games are very good. He's got more good games than he has bad. His contract reflects his ability so not sure why we feel the need to jump on his back. Monty is a good goalie and he's been there for us in many games. I believe he has 5 or more games in which he stole which is top 5 ish in the NHL.

Dwelling on his bad stats and bad games and ignoring the good things he does is not something I am a fan of. There is more good to like than there is bad.

Have to stay out of the box tonight. Detroit cannot score 5 on 5. Do not help them.

Wings have lost 3 in a row and have 1 point in those games due to a OT game. Wings have also played 4 on the road before this home game tonight.

Another big test for the Habs on the road and we are on a 2 game winning streak.

Habs win 4-3 in OT is my guess. I feel like this will go OT

Agreed for the most part.................I don't like his inability to let in a softie, and then forget about it. He tends to allow another in right after, and the game is pretty much over. His mental toughness, is not always there spot on. Some of this is on his coach, for not calling timeouts, or making a change....

I guess we would all like to see his game get much more consistent.....

I don't mind Monty tomorrow but why would you play Pezz??? He's in for a stupid penalty + 1 or 2 turnover.

Well, Pezz knows that if he has another game with bad penalties while we are chasing the playoffs, he is as good as done. I'm pretty sure MSL has had that conversation with him and Pezz is not that dumb.

His forecheck and hits are solid. It's when he tries to use his stick when he is trailing behind or loses a step on someone.
