Well he’s 20 years old.
As a 19 year old rookie last season he scored 5G 10A 15P in 33 GP. That pans out to 12G 25A 37P as a rookie.
This season he’s been up and down 195. His pace over 82 games would be 5G 21A 26P. He’s 20 years old, overcame his first pro injury. I’m willing to give him time to grow physically and his game to mature. Not sure how he’s overrated.
He plays limited minutes too.
He is not a NHL player, Marchand did the work on that firs Coyle goal, sorry the kid was invisible all day and just is not strong enough at this time. Time for people to wake up, and thinking what they want is the right thinking. This team needs help badly, and the GM is no where to be found.
that pass was super hard. Forehand to back hand on coyles tape. Are we watching the same player? Have you ever tried to make back hand passes?

The team is built around McAvoy and Lindholm being able to lead two two way pairings, Swayman and praying Pasta can score enough.

If anything these games should prove how rough the D is beyond McAvoy and Lindholm. Outside of Lorhei it’s a bunch of hand grenade holders.

I’ll say it loud and proud. They miss Gryz. At least for the first 82.
As bad as McAvoy has been this year they desperately need him back.

I agree right now. Have seen him watching other players compete for pucks while he finds open spaces expecting a puck to get to him. He also generally looks to pass rather than shoot. He's skilled but fragile and I think when you have a puck watcher on a line, it puts more pressure on his linemates to do more. If he was more competitive on pucks I would think he was an asset.

What do you know. . . my theory of bringing up the young guys is working.

Poitras and Lettieri have been producing at a dime on the dollar . . .. . .
Lettieri isn't a young guy but he's definitely been better than Whalstrom. More speed than Brazeau as well so worth keeping around.

Poitras was good and he has the high end skill the team lacks no question. Made a big difference today.

So I guess you can beat San Jose by playing one good period but that wasn't what you call an impressive win. Not going to be good enough against good teams. Team is asking too much of Marchand at this stage of his career and the lack of high end talent is glaring. Lindholm played where he belongs now as third line talent. Free agency was not money well spent this past off season, that's the story of 24/25.

But how is he “overrated by fans on this board”?

And Hampus Lindholm.

Korpisalo is such a weird goalie. He will make these spectacular saves and then let in absolute muffins. Not sure how it really went today, but that's what I've noticed this year.
pretty much summed up his game again today
