What makes you think that?

Comments like: "Well we need to build on last game (a loss)" and "we did a lot of things right, we're looking to progress from the last game."

These are not words from a coach who expects his team to win or to come out firing on all cylinders. These are not words from a coach who thinks his team hit rock bottom.

His expectations have diminished, it sounds like he's just looking for the team to compete. This sounds like Ted Nolan and the bottom-dwelling Sabres.

We are not looking to compete - competing is the bare minimum - we should be looking to win. The time for praising our effort is over. Winning is the only thing that should count right now.

We haven't really won in 20 games.

I expect his expectations to be higher than just "building" on previous efforts.

Tippet in pre-game comments already sounding like a defeating man, coaching a defeated team.

So sad.

Saw His post game the other night. That Look. Like Dead Man Walking. He looks like a Beaten Man. My heart does go out to Him. As a Human Being.

Need a source/ link for crazy claims such as yours.

See my quote and analysis in the previous post. This isn't just heresy. Go listen to Tippet and tell me if he strikes you as a determined coach who expects his team to win.

I guarantee you that if I showed you ten pictures of Tippett after a win and ten of him after a loss, you would do no better than chance guessing which was which. Dude has a hell of a poker face.

I've honestly never seen Tip act in any other way the composed and tight lipped in interviews. He makes it hard to do anything but speculate what he is truly thinking, and that's because he is professional and knows the public doesn't need to know everything. So your, WJF, speculation about his comments are as good as mine and anyone else's.

I do generally appreciate your opinions and criticisms. However, I think a larger disaster needs to occur to begin speculation on coaching staff and management, which is never out of the realm of possibilities.

For the same reason Ilya Bryzgalov or Brian Boucher didn't have long successful careers: all of them range from bad to average with a few moments of brilliance. Mike Smith is merely playing like he has during his entire career except for one single season.

Common thread with the big Russian and Smith! They both got big contracts and then their games went into the s--thole! basic human nature, I got the dough so i guess i must be great!! Not!! Isay give the youngster Greiss more ice time than Smith, see if that lights a fire under him?:yo:

His off mike assessments when amongst friends is even more brutal than you know! Even when things were going reasonably well for this team he had some pretty damaging things to say about certain players, I can`t imagine what he is thinking or saying behind the scenes now! Can`t be good! To those hoping for a coaching change! Dream on, Tip is a world class coach who has been saddled with minor league talent for most of his tenure in the desert! Let him go and this team is a perennial bottom feeder!

Don't get me wrong, I think Tippet's position is quite safe with the franchise and I don't see a change on the horizon.

I'm just remarking at the veritable disconnect between Tippet and the players at this time. The team is not playing anything close to his system and his words seem to be falling on deaf ears. You can see it in face, he's at a loss for words, and he's admitted that himself.

I just don't know how it can be turned around. I mean, are the players just going to start dominating all of a sudden? There are just too many pieces to this puzzle, from the goal out.

I don't think Tippet has a bearing on anyone anymore and part of the problem is that all of the players that we expect to carry this team are locked into cozy contracts. Smith, OEL, Yandle, Ribs, Doan, Hanzal.

The only guy that isn't is Boedker, and you tell it by how good his game is these days and read it from the effort on the ice.

Just when was Our last winning streak? PLAYOFFS??? PLAYOFFS??? I think I remember going to those. I so enjoy looking at that One Banner. Seems like I see the bottom closer than the top. Even With the Greatest Coach in NHL. Even though most of the player don't seem to listen to him.

This should be the perfect opportunity to begin to get us back onto the track for post-season.

Van has not been rested. They also just played one of the toughest teams in the league and suffered a humiliating defeat. And the Sedins this year aren't clicking like they used to be; their depth beyond the Sedins and Kesler don't look very good right now; Edler has also lost a step or two.

Let's get this done tonight, if we have a good game plan.

Edler played his first game on Monday after being injured for 3-5 weeks.

Everyone's been understandably edgy lately, don't take it out on other posters or infractions/thread bans will be issued. If something is a problem please report it

Sounds familiar.......

muwhahahahaha

I bet Yotes take this one in SO 2-1. Players and Tippet promptly start planning the Stanley Cup parade after the game.

If the player are not listening to Him. He is no longer the Coach. Or a Coach in name only. The Coyotes then are a Coachless Team then. That's My problem with Him. So If the player don't listen to Him. Just who does He talk to before during and after the games?

This is all just speculation, unless you happen to be in the locker room.
