Brendan Gallagher, Juraj Slafkovsky, Jake Evans, Sean Monahan, Kaiden Guhle, Jake Allen and now Caufield all out.

These games in Montreal can be put in a blender though, who knows who will win. Will feel pretty bad losing to this group though. We SHOULD be able to win this pretty easily.

Habs gooned it up with the Panthers last game. They all are bandaged up though, I expect cheap shots , but doubt they’ll want to reopen cuts so soon. (Panthers were pretty aggressive in our game against them too.)

Looks like Simmonds is in. Not the worst idea considering the Habs are gonna be throwing cheapshots all over the ice.

Would've preferred Benn over Timmons too

OT win wouldn't be the worst thing, MTL deserves some points. :naughty:
I've actually started paying attention to the habs and Panthers places in the standings. Was hoping for a 3 pointer when they met the other day.

Anyway, made a stop at M&M and Safeway for my hockey day in Canada marathon snacks so i'm all set. Ideally the Flames and Leafs win and Ovi(i'll watch the Caps/Knights for my late game instead of Oilers/Canucks which will likely be boring) pots a couple.

Could/should be a great day.

Full tank mode.

Didn’t realize it was Hockey Day, didn’t know that was still a thing.
Hockey is secondary today with the Divisional Playoffs at 4 and 8, for my group anyway.

How many goals do we expect from Josh Anderson tonight?

Feels like he always scores against us smh

I really don't understand the plan with Holmberg. He only missed 2 games, he doesn't need an extended stint with the Marlies while Wayne Simmonds continues to get into NHL games despite actively proving every night he doesn't have what it takes anymore. Obviously it's just temporary, but still odd

Caufield was in full on ice practice a day before they announced the news of shutting him down for the rest of the season. That's one ugly tank move.

Keefe needs to cut the bs and stop with playing Simmonds. He literally sabotages the team with how bad he is.

Are you suggesting he’s not hurt?
That doesn’t make much sense.

Yeah I'm not particularly against Simmonds playing tonight

The difference between these 2 teams is huge and we should win regardless. With Montreal playing dirty it's good to have Simmonds out there

Rielly is absolutely playing with the flu tonight. Watch that pregame interview. It must be hitting that dressing room hard if he isn't being held away.

why on earth is Benn drawing in over Timmins???? is Timmins one of the guys with his head glued to a toilet?

edit: oops, I guess Timmins is in over Benn. Benn is outright brutal, and will only get worse with age. Timmins can improve with some actual game time, and is already heads and heels better than Benn. Even shows on the chart that was posted earlier.
Timmins passing alone is more valuable than anything that pylon Benn does.

I don't follow analytics very much so excuse the ignorance: I am assuming the xGF% doesn't take into account the player's finishing ability. Because Kerfoot and Engvall look like they're going to score every second shift and, well, you know.

It’s expected goals for while they are on the ice, divided by expected goals against while they are on the ice. Engvall actually has a higher shooting % than the team average, while Kerfoot is just below it. It’s an interesting stat, but only one stat. It says more about the guys near the bottom though, IMO.

No Cauliflower for the Habs tonight

So naturally the Leafs will find a way to lose.
No Caulfield, HNIC vs a tanking team decimated by injuries...I know how this goes.
