So at least Coyle is a good guy in the dressing room right? Good for the culture but bad for the scoreboard?

I honestly wonder how long ago the local fanbase would have turned on him if he wasn't a good ol' Boston boy.

Me too. I agree.
It's one thing to be bad, but at least be entertaining. Yes, the Bruins are missing some regulars, but even with them in the lineup, they are still a boring team to watch.

There are something like 6 teams in the East within 5 points of them in the standings, several with as many as three games in hand. The math doesn't favour the Bruins' chances, but the way things are going, at least they could be within distance of a lottery pick.

Might be smart to move on from some core players. Not confident in this group. But also what in the flying f*** was Sacco doing throwing Coyle, who was complete dog shit, out on the shootout? It’s Cassidy with his Kuraly-kink all over again.
:badidea:Do they have something worth calling a core with no top line centre?

Tough way to lose that extra point. It was great that they overcame a 2-goal deficit, and took the lead. Swayman played great. Pasta was great.

Then they blow the 5-3 lead. Blew a chance at an empty-net goal, or to just waste more time on the clock. Swayman selfishly tries for the goal, and puck never left the zone after that, resulting in the tying goal. No excuses for that.

Then in OT they blow a 3-on-1 and a 2-on-0. They didn't deserve to win it after that.

Can we trade Lindholm for a centre that actually does something?

Long in the tooth AHL players are taking roster spots and either playing well enough to render the displaced the NHLer's play/production moot or exceeding it.

Not one AHL lifer has made anyone say, "Whoa, this guy turbo sucks." (Thank you, Pat Brown, for not being part of this year's sample)

Sounds good. Better than the inverse. Who doesn't like an underdog story?

Still can't shake thinking this isn't actually the sign of a really bad thing.

The comeback from 2-0 down was fun, they need to learn how to score EN goals, how the hell that didn't happen to make it 6-3 is beyond me. So frustrating. I don't watch shootouts, they aren't real hockey.

When we came back down 2 i thought that they would never look back but the Bruins all game pretty much wilted in on Swayman. Had a 2 goal lead but pissed it away. Carlo, Coyle, and Zadorov were disappointing to say the least.

I think I’ve been one of Coyle’s big defenders on this board over the years but I’ve got nothing left to say at this point. He just isn’t effective really…ever…anymore. Just plugs a spot in the lineup.

I hate shootouts. Stupid way to decide a professional game of hockey. But the league in all it's wisdom wants a game winner.

Can someone tell me what Coyle is doing? I've never seen him get pissed off about anything. He is so bland emotionally. He reminds me of Roger Dorn from Major League just going through the motions.

That was a pitiful shootout out display. That said, why Coyle and Zacha two of the most snakebit shooters on the team. Not whom I would have chosen for two of my first three shooters.

Oh well, next San Jose

He was awful all game, turn over machine today both end of the ice. Mostly when he was under no pressure. He's part of the current mindless hockey this team is flooded with.
He must be injured again. I think that line desperately needs a play-driver to get it going. Marchand doesn't have that in the tank anymore especially if he's hurt.

Just a terrible terrible way to end a hockey game but I don’t see how Ottawa gaining a single point derails their entire chance to make the playoffs. We got them next Thursday night at home. Bruins can recover from this .

YEARS AGO!!!!!! Brickley covering for him and pumping up basic HS hockey plays is embarrassing as well.

Brick hasn’t turned on Coyle. I swear he makes a point several times per game to point out great plays by Coyle to the point it’s become absolutely sickening. I like Brick, but give it a rest.
