Barron is the most nothingburger player ever. I don't understand the hype at all, has never stood out for a single shift or play. It's so random how infatuated so many seem to be with this guy. Howden was better.
He defends well. Does the little things well. He's not a line driver he's a compliment. Hasn't had much to play with

I'd personally try him in between Panarin and Strome. Let them float around while he's the responsible one. Goodrow can be that guy too.

People hype him up as if he's some top end prospect though, he has no skills at all. I've seen some pencil him in as a future 2nd line center or suggest he should be on the top line even. He'll be 24 this year and hasn't amounted to much.

Zero people have hyped him up as a top end prospect.

He's just needs to be playing over the career AHL scrubs

I don’t think it’s so much about hype with Barron. If Barron can become Rooney, that’s fine. The difference is Barron is 23 years old and has a future as a third or fourth line player in the NHL. Brodzinski is almost 29 and has played 66 games in his life and has absolutely no chance of being an NHL regular, ever. Just let the kid play.

IDK who does that, those of us that are pro-Barron see him as a guy who can end up producing 15-15-30 from the third line, kill penalties, and be the net front presence on the 2nd PP unit.

The exact kind of secondary scoring and physicality we need, especially with Blais out.

He, or Gettinger, need a longer look.

I don't want to name names lol but there are over 10 posters here who have said he will be a #1 center. There are tons who said he will be a top 6 guy. The guy is FAR less accomplished than Howden who is the same age. Where does this confidence in him come from? The season in watered down AHL where even Ty Ronning was a PPG player?

That third line belongs in Hartford.

How is Brodzinski playing over Barron? I just don't get it.

Do they have Brodzinski jerseys at the Garden store yet?

28 years old, 66 NHL games - if he isn’t a mainstay, who is?

Honestly, I would rather have Jones or Nils play LW on the third line than Brodzinski ever wear our jersey again. Barron being a scratch just doesn’t make sense. We have injuries, it’s his turn, even with growing pains, these final games before the break should have been a no brainer for him to be playing. Is Barron over Brodzinski going to end up being the difference between a win and a loss? If it is… that’s a problem. I don’t mean, can a rookie mistake from Barron cost us a goal - like it did the other night - I mean, is Brodzinski a tangible or measurable difference, and if not, why aren’t we letting Barron grow?

I’m guessing in some hidden executive offices, Chris Drury came upon Phil Esposito’s guide on how to build and maintain a mediocre hockey club.
1) Trade players with spirit:
check- trade Pavel Buchnevich
2) Stifle growth and optimism by your “on the cusp” forward prospects by discouraging opportunities for them to ever think they will get a chance with the Rangers, over veteran AHL/NHL retreads:
Check- McKegg, Hunt, Brodzinski, Rooney over Barron, Gettinger, Richards, Ronning and Pajuniemi.
Trade your young prospects for other teams bad chemistry veterans.
Unchecked- Looking at you March 21st.

I also liked Howden... have no clue why we gave up on him

Lol, cmon you can't say Kravtsov has no skills. There are many knocks you can have on him but skills aren't one. He would be one of the most skilled players in our lineup if he stepped in right now.
I was more or less talking about the hype of him and some penciling him in on the top line. I always hope fans see the day that potential means very little in sports. What matters is the results. The quicker you get them the longer you’ll stay.

I think Barron suffers a lot from over thinking. He seems like an overly analytical person. That cripples you.

It's similar to what Kreider said he suffered with

I will never get over Buch :(
Seriously one of the absolute best personalities in the sport. He is such a fricking quirky, weirdo, who loved being a Ranger lol

That’s funny you say that because I was just reading a write up about in recent years the best players in their respective sports aren’t the most talented or hardest working. But it’s the ones with the strongest mental fortitude. And the data the writer had was amazing. I hope this becomes more of a mainstream recognition. Making sure their heads are on straight is just as important as any skill they could bring.

Sadly, I think that's the biggest issue with Kakko.

Absolutely need this game today. Carolina and Pittsburgh also in action. Need to bank points ahead of them making up games on us during our hibernation period.

Being the biggest org in hockey, you would think they'd have a sports psychologist

Especially for this generation... a lot of these kids are introverted/highly analytical. They become their own worst enemies

It’s still on the players. They gotta make the appointments and accept they may need this type of assistance. It’s not easy but speaking from personal experience it completely changes your life and your focus.

Price is a good example. I think when/if he comes back he’ll be at the peak of his game.

Anyone her from the Canadian Maritimes ?
Maybe people from PEI think people from St. John’s are jag-offs and visa-versa.
Could explain why Barron is getting no love from the coach?

I 100% agree. I hope he gets some assistance in the off-season. Not sure if Kreider saw a Shrink. But he definitely did something to help him control his metal state and refocus on his work. Maybe he can help Kakko with that.

Tantra. Kakko just needs to get heavily involved in tantra. It will definitely relax him.

Hunt-Rooney-Reaves being back I'm pretty stoked about, just now don't play McKegg-Brod-Gauthier more than 4 minutes.
