My official prediction
NYR 3 Habs 0

I expect a good game for Dobes but also a frustrating night for our offence.
I hope I'm wrong but I have seen this kind of weekends too often. We get blown out on Saturday then play a better game on Sunday but our offence gets neutered .

Tempted to skip that one
Based on recent precedent, I think the Rangers score 7 unanswered goals.

And then the Sems are playing against the self-imploding Devils who might be the worst team in the Conference in the last couple of weeks…

Nah not being from Texas I was raised on the Tortoise and the Hare.
The Young bull and the old bull are sitting up on a hill looking down at tons of cows.
The young bull says to the old bull "let's run down there and screw us a cow"...to which the old bull replied..."why don't we walk down there and screw them all"?
Habs last night acted like a young bull and the old bull got them.

Rangers are a bad team and thus we will lose.

The Rangers are 6-1-2 in 2025 (5-0-2 in their last 7). They struggled in the last half of November and all of December but they have picked it up as of late. Will be a good test after a let down of a game last night.

I don't think they looked gassed at all. They simply didn't play shutdown hockey with a 3-0 lead and that wasn't a recipe for success against a good offensive Toronto team.

It was way too early to play shutdown hockey when they got that lead. They just stopped playing the way they've been playing; Started forcing entries with low percentage fantasy plays because they didn't feel they had the energy to win races to the puck.

This fed into the leafs' breakout. Toronto was able to get their forecheck going because our fwds and Ds were disjointed.

The style the habs play is physically demanding since it's ultra aggressive on the puck carrier, it caught up to them.

This team learned a lesson last night. They had a great 1st period and then they got taught a lesson.
You guys familiar with the young bull vs old bull story?
Not the first time it happened this season. So I guess it's a hard lesson to remember. ;)

Losing last night in that fashion is demoralizing. I hope Dobes can win it, but my negative side is saying a losing streak is incoming.
