Didn't see the game, how was Hannikainen? Only 6 minutes of ice time I see.

Torts didn't want him to overdo it clearly. When he was on the ice, he was throwing his body around and laying some hits but you can tell that he doesn't have much physicality to his game and that he is definitely not fit for 4th line duties. Barely had the puck. Hard to evaluate his play tonight.

A win is a win but we can't keep getting out shot 2 to 1 for most of the game. Add in the seeing-eye goal and the Jackets were fortunate the game didn't go to OT.

I have nothing bad to say about Bobrovsky. He may have lapses in his game but he truly is an all world goaltender most of the time.

Yeah, great back-up to have if Korpisalo needs rest. The wish of some to restrict Bobrovski's number of games has been fulfilled by the hockey gods. Even smaller cap hit than with the Lehtonen-Niemi duo.

That's the kind of game we need to win going forward (2-1, 3-2 types) and they found a way. Great to see Jones and Murray out there so much.
Hartnell took a stupid penalty (I didn't see it but glad to read that Dubi let him have it).

Was at the game last night. Just wanted to add something about Jones. In the second period it looked like the Avs were going to get an odd man rush. It looked like the Colorado player was going to skate right around Jones, but he used that long reach to snag the puck from the Avs player.

He does have quite the long reach, as advertised.

Solid win.. thought we were on our heels a little too much but, kudos to Korpisalo for one heck of a game.

Also, count me in the Jones is vastly improving every game camp.

And I agree with the theory offered by others here that adding Jones has really upgraded THREE pieces of our D puzzle. Murray's game is notably better and Jack's is simplified and improved as well. I no longer feel impatient with Murray, and though I've been a fan of Jack since his arrival, it's good to see this recent improvement to his game. Just because he could and wanted to play 30 minutes...doesn't make it a good idea, right?

*noting short sample size of observation, of course.
**reserving right to backtrack later in the season.

Biggest takeaway for me is you're right - I'm finding myself a lot less inpatient with Murray.

And as much as I've said I'd like to see Jones a tad more physical I've noticed he smartly picks his spots as to when to use his body to the best advantage.. Which of course is how it should be.

I think the biggest difference with Murray is that it's obvious he trusts his defensive partner out there and plays within himself more. Watch him early in the season and he did, and after about 5-10 games he started trying to do everything because he had no faith in whoever he was paired with.

Not that I can blame him one bit for that, of course.
