So isn't the whole point of having a "shut down" center like Dano to play him against the other teams top line? Then that line is balanced and responsible defensively and takes less risks offensively. So in this case he wouldn't have been trying to make a play he's not really capable of making offensively allowing a break by the other team? It's just a confusing mess.

Put Dano on the third line and let him focus on his job and let the skilled players do their thing.
