Absolutely no issue with the hit. If you want that removed - given circumstance i.e. speed of the game and reaction time of a human being, then you just want a no contact league. That's okay.

It wasn't predatory in the slightest. It was a clean hockey hit - in fact they could model the rule after that hit it was so clean. There's sometimes going to be incidental head contact.

How about according to you? You can see it plainly for yourself whatever Pang and Levy said. Do you think if that hit was delivered today it would pass unnoticed by the league? A lot has changed since then, thankfully.

I've said this on previous posts- I really think he's dealing with post-concussion symptoms again. Remember that game earlier in the season when he got hit & had to go to the room? I know he returned but I'll bet with his concussion history he probably suffered a minor one. He's been playing like he is in a fog, like he did with previous concussions.

To me it looks like Raddysh's arm/shoulder was up higher than it should have been. He didn't leave his feet or anything like that, but his arm/shoulder shouldn't have been up that high. Obviously the officials did not agree with me.

JMO.

Totally agree with you. Lindros took a great deal of hits ( clean one's) during his career because he played with his head down. His issue was he played all levels when he was a kid including junior hockey and no one could hurt him, because he had 25-35 pounds on everyone. That all changed when he turned pro.
I love the good old days when Gillies and Probert kicked the crap out of Stevens.

UNLV. UNLV is a Club Hockey Team...lol. Guess what? UNLV freaking beat the defending NCAA Champs in a shootout...lol.

Upsets happen a lot more in hockey.

The quality of acha division 1 hockey has significantly improved as of late. UNLV will be an NCAA d1 team soon and multiple more teams will as well if all continues going well.

I don't really trust Korpisalo either..although he's played some gutsy games and gives full effort, he's just not a #1 goalie IMO

When Swayman is at the top of his game he IS a #1 goalie, and I want him to play most games

Vasilevskiy plays around 60 games a season and has been doing it for years so Swayman should be able to handle 2/3rds of of the workload

When I first read it they mentioned the chicken wing, that I did not see, but he did hit him in the head, todays game he would and should be called for targeting the head.

And a majority of them can be simply avoided by the player taking a stride of two with the puck. Too often our defenders and forwards try to chip or throw the puck up the boards . Skating with the puck opens up lanes. Of course there were times last night where they were just exhausted and needed to do whatever to clear the zone.

I look at it similar to the boarding calls where the player being hit turns his back last minute . If your going to call them call them consistently. The shoulder definitely hits Koepke but is his head coming down which causes the contact. Awful hard to judge intent on these plays , if they review them all and get them right 80% of the time I'm happy . Still was pissed last night because it was the Bolts especially after the cross check to Kastelic last game.

A motivated goalie ( Tim Thomas ) can often be a very good goalie. I’m sure Swayman is aware of the criticism being directed his way and wants to prove everyone he is legit .

My son was one of 3 kids that started the UMass-Amherst, ACHA program
his Sophomore 2004-05 season. The next year they made the ACHA D2 Nationals.
Everyone in the top 9F and top 4D, including my son, were NCAA D3 recruited.
Once they decided to go to UMass, hockey was off the table, but they wanted something more than Intramural but not as time consuming a D3.

His senior year, a Sophomore who had been on the Hockey East roster as a Freshman, lost his spot but came on his team. He was our best forward, but
wasn't much better than our top 3 Club forwards.

That year we played Harvard JV Team at Bright Center and Ted Donato dropped down his 5th line varsity (Alex Meintel played) and 4th D pair Varsity. Their JV Team won like 7-5 and the Varsity players scored 5 of the goals.

I am definitely familiar with how good club level play is, but Denver shouldn't be losing to UNLV, Buium or no Buium.

I rented Boston Garden and invited The Coast Guard Academy to play my sons UMass Team. Gryz's dad came over to me asking what hockey it was and was impressed the level of play for Club.

UMass won The Nationals either last year or year before, so its neat my son had
a bit of a hand in starting the program.

I hit to injure when I played. I don’t say this because I’m proud, but to say that it (is/was) more commonplace than you think.

That’s not what happened on this hit - you don’t think in that moment “opportunity to hurt”, you think “opportunity to hit” and it ends up the hurt way - without intent.

I do agree, but it's so hard to avoid head contact.

Seems kids today were taught a lot differently. Basically if they're skating looking down at the puck and you come head on, there's going to be head contact no matter what. You can drive through the chest and still get head a lot of the time and there's simply nothing you can do about it.

I'm a simple guy... when the Bruins score some goals, throw some hits and get in a few fights, I'm entertained. More of this, please.

Best game of the season for Frederic? He and Swayman both seem to be getting over their first half hangovers. Need to share their remedy with McAvoy when he gets back from injury. Hopefully it's not too little, too late.

On a side note, I'm sure the NHL was mortified by the intensity, emotion and physicality shown by the players in this game so expect their next meeting to be an over-officiated snooze-fest.

When Carlo turned the puck up on their 2nd goal I nearly lost it. He had clear possession, he Frederic and Beecher open in the middle of the ice. Instead he throws it softly to the wall and right onto a TB stick. :mad:
