Very fun game, aside from the slog of stoppages that plagued the 3rd period.
Agreed- I didn't get to start watching until 10 Central time and that third period took FOREVER to finish

Against Florida, definitely, but I don’t think they were “badly outplayed” or even just outplayed last night. Tampa has some moments, yes, but I think the Bruins were the better team last night.A win's a win's a win. At the same time....that isn't what i would call a great effort. Tampa kinda walked them after the first period and then started to throw a hissy fit when things weren't going their way.
There was a good amount to like though;
- Potsy! He looked fantastic to the point he drove that 3rd line tonight. Had a fantastic pass to set up a goal and that's the most active Frederic and Coyle have looked all season. Please for the love of everything, DO NOT send him back down.
- Sway was rock solid. Back to back games with 40 saves or more. Is he finally finding his game?
- Pasta with 3 goals in his last two, looked way more active in play in the last couple games. Rich Keefe might be a douchebag, but if his crappy reporting struck enough of a nerve to wake guys up, shit i'll take it.
Two big Ws albeit in games they were badly outplayed. Schedule don't get any easier with Ottawa twice, Jersey and Colorado in the next 10 days. Keep it going.
The mean (the average) is susceptible to being skewed by extreme scores and outliers.Problem with stats like that is they can be skewed by a few games where he let up 7 or 8 goals where the team also tanked.
Lots of the Bruins issues came from constantly icing the puck, honestly. I thought they played a fine game outside of that, really.Against Florida, definitely, but I don’t think they were “badly outplayed” or even just outplayed last night. It really picked up once they had the bigger lead, and continued down the stretch when it was 4-2. That's to be expected I suppose. The Bruins went into the game banged up and icing a bunch of lesser experienced players, so it only makes sense to be relying on panic clears while trying to protect a lead.Lots of the Bruins issues came from constantly icing the puck, honestly. Was that a coaching thing “ guys don’t be afraid to ice the puck if you have to “ ?Lots of the Bruins issues came from constantly icing the puck, honestly. I thought they played a fine game outside of that, really.
I think the Bruins are a much better team when they bring it physically and I'll always say that. Glad they came out last night from the jump with a heavy forecheck and finished all their hits, and they were hitting to hurt, too.It really picked up once they had the bigger lead, and continued down the stretch when it was 4-2. Overall it was a great team effort. Loved how they didn't get pushed around at all and gave back every hit that they took. The camera shot of Frederic and Wotherspoon (I think it was Wotherspoon) in the box laughing and jawing away at the adjacent penalty box was a beautiful sight. It felt like the Bruins of 10-15ish years ago
I had the Lightning feed all game. It was hilarious how badly they downplayed the physicality from Boston.I think the Bruins are a much better team when they bring it physically and I'll always say that. Zadorov has never been a great fighter, but he's so damn strong he can lock you out and land punches. He gave Jamie Benn an absolute tuning earlier this year after a dumb hit, too.
That's the beauty of having 3 guys who know what they're doing with the gloves off. We had a rough stretch for a while where Bruins seemed to be taking beatings night in and night out.
Physical play aside. I'd like to see Zadorov shoot more. He's got a rocket back there. It's wild, but it's a bomb, lol.
If the league really cares about player safety I don't know how you don't call that at least 2 minutes after reviewing. One last rant, how was the Koepke hit a good hit gone bad, with initial contact to the head. They need to adopt the term vulnerable, like the NFL did to their penalty language. Looks like an upper body injury of indeterminant length for Koepke.
What penalty would you call there? Just an illegal check to the head? I feel like if they did that, they'd make it a major. If the league really cares about player safety I don't know how you don't call that at least 2 minutes after reviewing.
Yay, I watched a game and we won, here's to hoping the jinx is over. Sorry y'all, this season is my fault, I forgot to unpack my Neely sweater and haven't worn it once this season until yesterday. Fingers crossed

I just saw that she hadn't been wearing her necklace too LOL I'll do better next time I'm sorry <hanging head in shame>You & @caz16 are why they have sucked (she hadn't been wearing her Bruin necklace). Here we were thinking it was management or the coaching staff but all along it was you two!!!!
Some good points. Couple of games ago I noticed Zadorov, had a hit and I think it was the same player had a chance for at the puck and kind of held up, and I said to myself that was a playoff play and that is why they got him. He is going to make some players think when he is out there in the playoffs, and that is what they got him for. When was the last time the Bruins had an intimidating d-man on the back end that could play 20 minutes a night? Maybe Miller?
I know Zadorov's game isn't "sexy" to the nerds, but man, this style of player has been missed.
Notice how quiet they were around the crease last night when 91 was covering the front? Notice what happened when he wasn't on the ice? Tampa was right in there pushing and shoving. Reminded me a lot of when big Z was here. Obviously Zadorov isn't Chara, but he gave a few guys some shots and they didn't want anything to do with it.
Also, huge credit to Frederic. I've been super hard on him because he has this style of play in him, we just didn't see it for 75% of this season. He doesn't have to play this way every single night, but man, it was refreshing to see. Getting a healthy Kastelic back will take some pressure off, but I loved what I saw in his absence.
This team isn't a GREAT team, but they need to play this style of hockey with the roster they have.
Tampa announcers are violence sympathizers. I don’t mind them one bit :pI had the Lightning feed all game. It was hilarious how badly they downplayed the physicality from Boston.

I don't think there was much Raddysh could do to avoid contact there. I get that the player is responsible, but the game is so fast.
Without the added danger of a blind side hit, I think I would feel differently about it and let the face contact slide a bit. That's how I feel about it. In real time it looked like a good clean hit. I don't know what Raddysh could have done differently there either. Brick made a good point too about how we would see it if the teams were reversed. It sucks that Koepke got hurt, but I don't know how you get these type of things out of the game without banning hitting completely.
