Frederic looked natural out there with Poitras. Matt made some minor mistakes like Lohrei did but those come with developing in the fastest game on earth.

Ullmark vs. Swayman Saturday and put some points between the Bruins and these teams with games in hand. Vancouver and Boston mirroring each other once again in history and with their positioning. Who blinks first and makes a trade? Or accepts one?

Best game of the year so far? idk but it certainly was entertaining and had a little bit of everything in it.

Swayman has his mojo back, that seems certain now. Poitras brought that youthful energy and speed you'd expect and fit in well. When Coyle shifts down that third line is definitely elevated.

I think Lettieri brings them more than Whalstrom did. He's got speed and seems to have a shot. Not sure if it's an accurate shot but it's a shot. If it comes down to it I'd waive Whalstrom before him.

Since I don't follow Providence closely I didn't even know we had a guy named Callahan but he was okay. Solid game and didn't look out of place. So I guess if you want to make over this team you could trade McAvoy :)
In all seriousness though maybe there's a lesson in this for McAvoy. I think he tries to do too much too often and they want him to do too much and maybe if they just dial that down and say just play D he will excel. Just a thought.

All in all an excellent game and we scored goals!

Smart of Sacco to not play Poitras when the going got heavy. Let him get momentum.

Whole team complete effort/win.
Poitras was out there at the end so I think that had more to do with Koepke being out and going three lines and then the PK as well. Hope Koepke is okay, clearly concussed.

On a side note I'm looking at these shots of Callahan and he looks like he's chiseled out of stone. He'd make a great character on Shorsey with that mug. (and that's a compliment)

It's great that Swayman is back to playing his game. I know he was our best player in this game and the last, but before folks discount our wins consider this: Did you discount our losses when Swayman was struggling?

Goalies are part of the team and the Bruins are paying a premium for their goalie to be a difference maker.

A win's a win's a win. At the same time....that isn't what i would call a great effort. Tampa kinda walked them after the first period and then started to throw a hissy fit when things weren't going their way.

There was a good amount to like though;

- Potsy! He looked fantastic to the point he drove that 3rd line tonight. Had a fantastic pass to set up a goal and that's the most active Frederic and Coyle have looked all season. Please for the love of everything, DO NOT send him back down.

- Sway was rock solid. Back to back games with 40 saves or more. Is he finally finding his game?

- Pasta with 3 goals in his last two, looked way more active in play in the last couple games. Rich Keefe might be a douchebag, but if his crappy reporting struck enough of a nerve to wake guys up, shit i'll take it.

Two big Ws albeit in games they were badly outplayed. Schedule don't get any easier with Ottawa twice, Jersey and Colorado in the next 10 days. Keep it going.

Good win, and they’ve been able to stop the bleeding and stabilize over the last couple.

The big problem now is games played and games in hand for the teams chasing them.

Not much they can do aside from take care of business in their remaining games. Obviously the next one is big.

That was a long game, luckily it was very entertaining. I love Zadorov, he was a key factor in the tone of the game. Kastelic is obviously important to the guys, they targeted Lilleberg every chance they got. That is what we have waited to see for a few seasons.

I was hard on Swayman when he was struggling and it left a bitter taste in my mouth. I am happy to see him earning his contract recently, I always want the Bruins to win and while I may not like the player, I admit when they play well because my personal feelings aren't relevant. He was been amazing and looks to be in top form, the swagger is back.

The real reason the losing streak ended is this beauty 😉 Undefeated since it returned to its rightful position.
