On one hand I want to say, we have to cut the team a break because they are down a few players and therefore have to ice half an AHL team.

On the other hand, I have to take this opportunity to point out that we are down three players and yet half our lineup are AHL or borderline AHL players.

Reaves, Hunt, Gauthier, Brodzinski, Hajek, McKegg. Jesus.

And people really want to consolidate assets for rentals! This team has a ways to go.

I think Jesus has shown enough not be included in that list...

I mean.. we were up by 2 tho.

We have basically one functioning-ish offensive line. It shows that while we may be deep with D, we reallllllly need to shake up the offensive core. Let's hope we have a good trade deadline and don't have to give up too much for it.

I don’t know if we have a physical speed problem. It’s maybe not a big strength, but I don’t think this is a slow, plodding team.

I think we have a processing speed problem. Like an old computer. We think slow, therefore we look slow. It’s been that way for SO long. Even during our deepest runs we were never a swift, crisp puck moving team.

Right now? Maybe it’s guys being so young and not fully up to NHL speed combined with guys like Reaves, Hunt, Gauthier and McKegg who aren’t exactly dynamos? I don’t know. It seems like our processors are slow, not our feet.
Taking off, going to sleep for huge stretches almost every game is a mental issue

While we need a better 2C than Strome and probably a top six RW unless we let Laf stay there, we probably see the merit in guys like Lehkonen and Crouse tonight. We have a shallow top nine. Some top six talent and a good 4th line (when it isn’t our 3rd). We could use depth so that if Chytil and Blais are out we still have four lines.

Instincts too, the bottom half of the team lately have zero

My MacBook goes to sleep a lot too. Sometimes I’m just checking my phone and it just goes to sleep when I don’t want it to. I stand by my analogy.

We need multiple long term offensive pieces still.
