Bouchard badly beaten. That's the point. Top pair is struggling against MacKinnon's speed and finishing ability. Think Bouchard played that well?Do you honestly think that's centre ice?

For sure we were bad but it's like when the team is bad Skinner will not do the skaters any favors. Good goalies will save a good number of "impossible" shots. Skinner does that about half the time.
Last year they were incredibly lucky because they had an extremely high shot percentage and ended up with a fluke season. This year they're back to reality.Wow Vancouver is ass
They only had 5 shots. I didn't even have to look it up. 3 scoring chances, 3 goals. Just because. So they scored on all 3 HD chances lol
No, the point was you said centre ice. Never disagreed that Bouchard played it poorly.Bouchard badly beaten. That's the point. Top pair is struggling against MacKinnon's speed and finishing ability. Think Bouchard played that well?
Don’t do it… lolFor real? Lolll
Time to drop him in my pool he's cooked
Interesting lol we wouldn't be saying that if Skinner allowed it would we?I thought that was a soft goal... but the Avs dman deflected it just enough to fool the goalie.
It's definitely frustrating. The team will bend over backwards to put us right up to the cap to lump on more expensive wingers but just closes their eyes and hopes when it comes to goaltending. This game is picture perfect example of one contender team improving on a critical position and weakness and another contender just saying this is still good enough. Its like a parable this game. Oilers management paying attention?
The best scoring chance in game was Draisaitl getting robbed on the pass across.
This is what I've kept saying. The kid can be great, then shits the bed. It's not his talent, it's his inconsistency.Yeah, I agree.
Would be nice for the last line of defense to hold the fort and be the hero.
But when Stu starts sucking, he sucksssssssssssss.
It's sometimes understandable the team has to settle into some games... but it's inexcusable for a goalie to settle into games. Thats not an option if your the last line of defense. This is just plain common sense.Well this period has actually been pretty similar to our 1st periods of late.
This time we ran into a skilled team on a roll. Oilers are gonna have to settle into this one and slowly chip away.
Yeah. So what exactly do you think goes through McD and Drai's mind commiserating on the bench after being robbed yet again and their own goalie can't make a single danger save. Gotta be tough. For sure we were bad but it's like when the team is bad Skinner will not do the skaters any favors. Good goalies will save a good number of "impossible" shots. And Skinner is well rested after not playing last night, so we can't say fatigue is a factor either. This is what I've kept saying. The kid can be great, then shits the bed. It's not his talent, it's his inconsistency.
They don't need Helleybuck, they just need a consistent, league average goaltender.
Does Dustin just jerk off in the corner of the ice? LolThat first goal is frustrating - paddle down from Skinner and the Avs player can only jab the puck into pads. Instead he went for a swim.
Avs shouldn't have had a chance their anyways, Nuge was primed to clear and Rantanen with a massssive hook that spun Nuge around and prevents him from flipping the puck out.
The presumption of innocence is long gone.Interesting lol we wouldn't be saying that if Skinner allowed it would we?

Fine I'll take the hit on my hyperbole. Doesn't change Bouchard getting badly schooled. Top pair is struggling against elite speed and skill. No, the point was you said centre ice. Never disagreed that Bouchard played it poorly.
You were wrong and then doubled down, that's the only reason I even replied again.
I agree with that. My fantasy is to have a tandem of _____-Skinner. That other goalie can be someone as good or even slightly worse than Skinner. He just needs to be a guy that will make the coach say "okay Skinner, you're going to have to be the backup for a little while." The coaching doesn't trust Pickard like that. It always comes back to Stu.For all the Skinner haters here, yes I know he can be inconsistent, yes I know he has slow starts.
But since the 22nd of november, thats almost 2 months now, he is;
6th in the league with a .925 save%.
8th in the league in GAA with 2.09.
For goaltenders who have played 10 or more games since.
That is outperforming guys like Markström, Swayman, Vasilevskiy, Oettinger, Gibson, Woll, Shesterkin, Gustavsson.
He is 26 years old making 2.6m a year.
What do you expect from him? By every metric for the past 2 months hes been one of the top 10 goalies in the league and is outperforming his contract by quite a lot.
I want a 1b/1a situation as well as I know some of you do but I do not get the hate for this guy. Its not his fault the Oilers dont have another good goaltender.
If they finish as a wild card and somehow knock out Vegas, I would be ok with that.Last year they were incredibly lucky because they had an extremely high shot percentage and ended up with a fluke season. This year they're back to reality.
