One more post and I’ll let it go.

The 88 team was a tad before my time.
I can’t fully appreciate how big a deal it was beating Montreal in the playoffs.

Great. Give them their night.

But also have a night for the guys from call it 1996-2004. Thornton, Oates, Murray, McLaren, Dafoe etc.

Would have loved to see those guys.
Instead we skip over the 90s and go right to the Chara and Bergeron teams.
Beating the Habs finally in the playoffs was huge. Epic, even. Give us old guys who lived through the Habs domination of us in the mid70’s onward a little bit of remember when. We went through real pain.

Better players are healthy and available. That's the way it goes. I know Gryz is still there, and that may seem unfair, but Wotherspoon is more in the Carlo/Forbort mould, Gryz is a different sort of player with a different role, so not really battling for the same spot.
Agreed. Brings a different dimension

I will say for those who were too young to see it, although we constantly lost…. seeing Miller, Byers, and the boys go toe to toe with Kordic, Nolan and the rest of the scum was a treat. Thursday night games with Habs (seemed like the were always on Thursday nights) was a wasted day waiting for the puck to drop and the hate to bubble over.
