Post-Game Talk: GAME 44 - Tampa 4 BRUINS 1

I don't feel "connected" to this team at all. It's like just a bunch of random guys thrown together. It doesn't feel like a team.

Spoiled by 2022-23 I guess, because that regular season was the most fun I had watching hockey, ever.
As disappointing as it was, with how it ended, for 82 games it felt like we were watching a masterpiece unfold...oh well 🙂

This is so accurate . . I have seen bad Bs teams before but even in those dark days there was a sense of "team" and one that gave a damn

This team seems to be a dis-connected group of players that don't have an identify or a sense of purpose ... to your good point "a bunch of random guys" skating around without a plan. When you are near the bottom of the league in both the pp and pk you know the problem is much more than some bad bounces or puck luck

We had a great run for the past 15 years and it is sadly looking like we have run out of runway. While I don't propose burning it to the ground ( eg trading off Pasta) I would definitely look to move any of Coyle, Carlo, Frederick, Geekie, Zacha- in some cases I really like the player but this team needs a major overhaul. And I would have a candid talk with Marchand - if he wants to retire a B, super, but if wants to try to win a second Cup then work to move him to a team with a realistic chance.

We've become desensitized of what a good game is by our guys.
Ray or Cam a few decades ago would have a 2-3 point game and it was deemed a good game.
These days we're down to a guy like Beecher who some are saying had a "good game" ( even Brick said it) but didn't get a point. Two very good scoring chances, nothing to show for it.
Now we're happy guys just show up.
It's like the kids getting a trophy for participating! The world has gone to crap, nobody takes responsibility for anything anymore. DS should look at this team and anyone not in his future plans should be gone ASAP! I would start with anyone who falls down or drops their stick for no reason, then the fly by guys, then the guys who can't make or take a pass! I realize that leaves about 4 players to keep and I'm OK with that. I cheer for the team / Jersey and could care less about the name on the back, the only player I ever was sad to see traded was Bobby Orr and we have none of those.

They have Lohrei and if their too pig headed not to have him run the PP, whats the sense. The kid loaded with offensive talent and instincts.
He's so overrated its becoming a joke on here, Did you see those Tampa D man moving it around on their power play?

No one is freelancing handling the puck like its a grenade , stop and starting. Like his defense he looks like a forward playing the point. Get rid of him in a trade please

Holy $hit how much zone time did they Bruins have on the PP and the bruins penalty kill overloads the box with no pressure whats so at all on the points, hell their defenseman and Kurcherov on the side wall could have a cup coffee while they were out there.

I, for some reason, put the B's in a group with the Caps and Pens. All 3 are struggling to stay relevant. I know Wash is doing real well, but their core is getting old. Same with Pitt.
10 years ago the Bruins had a minor blip when they missed the playoffs on the last weekend of the season in 2015 and 2016.

6 straight losses and the only game they banked a point was when Swayman didn't play and he has played his heart out.

Delaware North needs to fire Neely NOW and find a president for hockey ops who in turn finds a new GM.

The person that could do it Jeff Gorton is not available as he is happily rebuilding Poutineville.

I’m really nervous that Sweeney will feel pressure to trade multiple 1sts plus others to make the wild card. Even if he did dangle that, I’m not sure that would get Miller. Bruins have a horrible prospect ranking year in and year out. I think the Athletic has them at 30th, up from 32 so there’s progress. But keep trading high picks and you’re going to have to keep overpaying mid talent. The rebuild is coming whether Jacobs wants it or not, hopefully it happens before Marchand retires and Pasta loses his value.

Now you sound like a pom pom waiver, Its instinct and talent that puts that pressure on the killers,

Mason wouldn't sniff Tampa's third unit on a power play. Its just proof of how bad this teams roster is.

Hell I would trade Pasta straight up for either Point Or Hagel, I doubt Tampa would, these are guys you win with, complete hockey players not a one trick pony that kills you as much as helps you.

This Bruins management just will never get it, Bring in a hockey guy that can build a team and make hard choices.

The Swayman deal will be the final nail in DS's departure, terrible contract for a middle of the road goaltender. He got fleeced

So you disagree? The Bruins prospect pool is awful.
I think rating a prospect pool is like predicting a winning lottery ticket

That’s where Cam and/or Charlie need to step in and prevent it.
But if the ownership line is to not rebuild and make the 1st round every year, why would they? I don't disagree with you at all, but they’re all on the same page to make the playoffs no matter what. Charlie and Jeremy Jacobs, Sinden, Neely, Sweeney are all on the same page. That’s why we should all be scared of what move is going to happen shortly. They’re obviously going to trade picks.

Lol
Tampa isn't that much of a better team than the Bruins. They certainly didn't wow me. I wouldn't trade Pasta for either although Point you can make an argument for,but Hagel although a very good player isn't in the elite class as those two.

Bruins management Ditto! Swayman although I didnt care for the way he handled the offseason, is starting to come around, I have way more concerned with the Money and contract he handed out to Lindholm

That high?
I think the last 2 seasons it’s either been 32nd or 31st so I’m looking at it as an improvement. Look even if you think the Athletic is unreliable the point is that the prospect pool is very subpar. It’s not like we’re magically going to find a publication that ranks the Bruins pool as good or top 15. That happens when you’re consistently trading high picks in order to fill roster space that you should have been filled in your organization by other high picks that were made but unfortunately didn’t work out. That’s what happens when you’re always pressured to make the playoffs.
