What a game! Beat the Panthers. I got points from my guys: Burger and Marco! Johansson looked good and steady in the 2nd Pair, gaining confidence. Copp looked good on the 3rd period PK and the last 4 minutes under the barrage. I feel seen.

Also, I'm still over Ras and Joey V. Ship em off! Their "potential" and "pedigree" are worth way more on paper than it is on the ice. Get something good, Stevie!

Ras and Joey were terrible tonight. They only played like 10 minutes but stood out because they sucked so hard. They make me miss Glendening. If you aren’t going to contribute offensively, at least be a horse in your own end. These guys are useless every other game.

Kane summarized it at the intermission tonight;

McLellan basically "simplified their play" and "let them free roam". Instill trust out there to execute plays

There's no bonafide AHL scrubs on this roster, and there's a lot of really good talent. Team is not anywhere what it was in 2020 like people were saying before Christmas. They just needed a change of scenery with the coaching. You could tell their body language out there, Mo especially, was really off during December. Stuff just wasn't clicking and the players all knew it and felt it

But Bob was in net. Historically he obliterates the Wings (27-6-2 with a .938SV and 1.80GAA against Detroit), is the reigning Cup champ, and a Vezina finalist last year. That should mean we had 0% chance of winning tonight, right?

That actually means we had a 22.8% chance of winning and a 17.1% of winning in regulation

Compher line also pretty bad tonight.

As much as I’ve been butthurt about still being behind despite going 8-2 in the last 10…

I feel like this team controls its own destiny at this juncture.
Every team theoretically controls its own destiny with almost half of the season to play.

You're not watching the scoreboard if you're the Wings ... not at this point.

But Husso has won games before, and I'm to understand winning with him is impossible... Could it be people are spouting emotional bullshit with no basis in fact and reason? On the Internet?!?!

Combination of

1) coaching style. I dk if LaLonde was quiet and T-Mac is loud, or tougher, honester, easier, harder, truthfuller, etc. But the players like it.

2) playing style. LaLonde clearly believes that he can use a system to mold square pegs into round holes. He wanted a team full of D-men and tried to make it so. Players didn't like it, couldn't do it, and stopped trying.

3) reality. "Just play !@%#$ hockey! You've been doing it all your lives." He's letting the team and players show him who and what they are, and trying to slot the right pieces in the right places.

To be a bit of a doink, I would rephrase that to "Husso has been in-net when the team has put up a "W". I don't think he's won them on his own efforts much, if at all.

This season the Wings have found ways to lose games Husso has started on the basis of the skaters more often than on the basis of his play. He's not a great goalie, no. But he's also not Colorado Georgiev either...

He's been bounced around a bit in the system and is too skinny and overly nervous. He's here overnight because of another bounce around (some poor foster picking choices IMO) and I think my dog can help him so I'm trying to get permission to let someone else take the little puppy I was going to take tomorrow, and let me keep Brownie as my new foster.
Very cute pup. Thumbs up for fostering and good luck!

True obviously you’re right.

I mean like this team seems to not show up against bad teams.

Compher somehow played 19 minutes, i noticed he was out there quite a bit, but he really didn't do much.

16.7 FO% jesus... He's been OK on the dot lately, but probably gonna need someone on his line that can take face-offs when he's having nights like these.

How are Holl and Husso not an AHL scrubs?
Everything else you said I agree with.
