Each TV timeout is a minute and a half and they have 3 of them per period: past the 6 minute mark, past the 10 minute mark, and past the 14 minute mark. The length might be longer with national games, but I'm not sure.

And for those who don't know, commercials cannot be after an icing, after a goal, or during a PP.

You don't burn it this early. Watch the Rangers go up and then fall down and Torts doesn't have a timeout to get his team going. Or the Rangers fall by a few and Torts doesn't have a timeout. Or they're down a goal late in the 3rd with an empty net and Torts doesn't have a timeout to have a play drawn up. This is the one thing I absolutely hate about Torts. It's one thing if it's in the 3rd in a tight game, but not on a 1st period icing.
