May seem like a lot of mistakes made by each club but these are what you would call some forced errors. Both of these teams are certainly among best teams in the league and both giving each other problems as it should be. As a fan I'm just enjoying a good competitive game and will credit Minny for bringing this level while missing so many of their key players.

On nights like this anyway the NHL looks legit. I actually wish there were more good teams in the league as you only seem to get 2 games like this in a month.

Pickard with a helluva period. Probably the most dangerous chances Oilers have given up in a period since October. The one that was inexcusable was the line change.

Really enjoying the game though. I like physical hockey.

Low key dirty, not malicious. Didn't need to stick any part of the elbow out. Just because it wasn't a full out bull rush to the head doesn't mean it can't have an impact, just takes hitting the right spot even with minimal force to do damage.
Doesn't take much with todays equipment to knock a person senseless. The epoxy resin compounds the elbow and other pads have these days is hard as hammers. Like being hit with one. Its been examined in quite a lot of studies that NHL equipment has never been more injurious. Its that way ironically to protect the wearer, but it then becomes a weapon. They should really go back to some materials with a bit more give. So many concussions in current NHL and a lot of it partly due to todays equipment.

Todays shoulder pads and elbow pads are now way too hard and have been primary mechanisms of injury for decades now.

People might make a lot of the movement by McDavid's elbow. It very much could have been part of his motion. I wonder if for a millisecond he thought a hit was there but pulled back. The Wild player was moving a lot and with his head down
