It's funny people make comments that we can't beat the West and all the big boys, meanwhile, go look at our record in comparison to Stanley Cup darling Florida, a team everybody thinks can roll through the playoffs. Versus division, it's very similar. And their road record isn't great. Ours, on the other hand, is solid, as well as our ability to grind out wins. Do they need to get better at 5v5? 100%, but I think a lot of that will eventually come with the improvements to our young guys, additions like Othmann and Berard over the next couple of years, as well as any deadline targets they seek out and acquire. Things look amazing for this franchise going forward. People thought playoffs this season, sure, but they are on pace for like 50-55 wins, an incredible feat this season. This will only make the core and young guys better players going forward.

Laf showed off his clutch factor last night too. Back against the wall, the #2 pick scores, and he has to answer...and he does. He's going to be good. Give it time. Has a #1 pick ever been stuck behind two guys like Panarin and Kreider before? Panarin is top-5 in the game and Kreider is on pace for damn near 60 goals. I would just say play Laf with Goodrow and get a center like a Sam Bennett or someone of that nature to forecheck and provide offense, as well. Turn it into a scoring line. Right now he has no choice but to play Laf on 3LW because he has Panarin and Kreider, both of which do not seem comfortable on the RW. The kid is 20. His time will come.

100%. The thing I keep reminding myself is that he’s a great kid as well, with a fantastic personality. He’ll adapt and overcome. Can’t wait to see it.

That's the thing. He isn't Nail Yakupov level headcase. No offense to Nail, but some guys that go that high would, right about now, start feeling the pressure. He is cool, calm, and collected. He reminds me of Igor. You never see Laf get emotionally upset or rattled. I am sure he would like to be getting more licks in the top-6, but I can't see how Gallant doesn't realize how good Kakko and Laf can become. Right now, this year, for those two, it's all about understanding the system, experiencing winning, playing a 200-foot game, and making sure you backcheck and defend first. Stutzle and those guys are probably enjoying pond hockey but the team isn't even close.

I'm still hoping he's 90 points good and not 65 points good.

Let's hope he's 65 points good.

He's really shown nothing, I don't care what line he plays on. Too many excuses for Laf and Kakko on this board.

Take the C off the back of Chytil’s jersey. It’s silent anyway.
Actually it is not silent at all, Sam just mispronounces it. :D

"Ch" is, for most of you probably quite curiously, a single letter (yes letter) in the Czech alphabet. And it is pronounced basically the same way as you would pronounce the letter "J" in Spanish for example. A huge difference. :D

There are two threads, not sure where to post anymore, lol. Anyway, they need to figure out their slow starts. It's going to get them in trouble with the more potent teams. They got better as the game went on. I just wish they took care of business in regulation since it was the Kings. Oh well. Kings are a trending up and solid team so it was a good win.
