We have totally rebuilt the team over the course of ~5 years and look like a playoff team moving forward... more has to be done to become a top contender, but we are on the way

Teams like Buffalo have been doing this for a decade and still can't have even a respectable season

Really, this organization has done a great job

They've done more good than bad but the bad is trending, unfortunately.

There is a list of blunders that they can't afford to continue making.

They haven't "totally rebuilt," the team. They are missing two young long term centers and the ammo to acquire them is looking lean if we trade away a bunch for rentals.

Right, so the only option the Rangers had was to keep a lid on everything and keep playing him.

They made the decision it wasn't worth it for the health of the locker room.

I have no idea if they made the right call, I don't know how the players felt about him.. none of us do

Its one of the situations where we have to trust those who make the call. Who are we to say otherwise? We don't know what it was like in the room.

The Rangers horribly mismanaged Deangelo the asset. Remember what we were hoping to see as a return for him preseason when it was unclear if he would be resigned. To go from that, to a buyout and negative cap space, was just unforgivable.
