Lalonde was doing bad bad things to this team.

It really makes you wonder what the heck he was doing. We've all seen coaches lose teams, but I've never seen a team skate at half speed for half a season because of a coach.

poisoned the teams water supply .. it's crazy how this team just turned the switch on.. his stupid defensive system with no shots was the problem

My thoughts about the game:

Refs were helpful, but i think the team created situations were the Kraken players were faced with tough choices(Most certainly not biased here).

Seider and Ben had abit of a quiet offensive game 5v5, but did a solid job defending. They're both great at winning possession behind the net in the defensive zone, looks tough for teams to cycle against this pair.

Edvinsson and Johansson did a great job activating offensively and both played great part in scoring early. It's great to see Johansson looking more confident out there, he still needs to get stronger, but he's really solid out there making good decisions with the puck.

Cat and Kane are having fun out there.

4th line looked good, could've scored if Motte wasn't.. Well Motte. Veleno has come alive, and i'd like to see him replace Berggren on the 3rd line to give it more speed.

1st line looks good and i think Kasper makes alot of underrated plays, but i still wanna see that offensive edge come out.

Holl and Gus were solid aswell, even though i have to shake my head sometimes when Holl handles the puck like a grenade.

Very fun to finally see that first proper blow-out win of the season!

I expected a spark, but I didn't expect a 7 game streak and such a big turnaround in energy and play. Todd's first game loss I don't even count, they said he spent about an hour with the team before the game, which is no time to change a team's system. I blame the residual Fester stank on that one.

I just wanted watchable games, the start to the season has been slow and uneventful, I'm thrilled with how they are playing now. No more 10 shots through 2 periods games.

7 straight wins and f*** all to show for it, because our dogshit ass division decided they wanted to show up right at the same time

Only thing that sucks is we got hot, but Mtl, and a few others also got hot and we gained very little ground. We of course will cool off at some point, which shows just how hard it is to make up 8 pts that we were back before this even with a 7 game win streak.

Wondering how the team will react once the winning streak dies off and they get used to full day to day with Todd.

Love the whole teams skating effort change with the new coach, as I legit thought Kane was skating his retirement tour before the coaching change.

yes and that won't be true by the end of the season

less than 90 points has been enough for a wild card spot literally once in the entire history of the wild card system(9 full seasons) and that wasn't even in the east, it's an incredibly unrealistic thing to even hope for regardless of what paces say halfway into the season

Right now I don't even really care about the other teams. We're on pace for like 86 points, that shouldn't be expected to be enough to make the playoffs. If we can keep going and push that number into the 91-93 point range, that's when you start to look if other teams are able to match it.

Wings need to take care of their own business, standings position doesn't matter right now.

I don't understand why Yzerman didn't get him. I think he would fit on our team. There was another player top 5 pick who is a center, we played his team few games ago, I don't remember which one.

No, you should go to rest/shell mode when it's a clear win. That's how Contenders will do. Game was over at 5-0. And you should not look on any late statistics on those kind of games.

I think you are the only one on this board saying we are a contender. Those young players need to build confidence. And it was very unfair to Talbot who despite the big win made a few huge saves. I hope Mclellan will address this.

I know he was held off the USA so I imagine he’s salty about. Dudes a winner. I’m not saying he’s prime Kane… he’s 36 with a replaced hip but he’s been soo damn good.

I have complained about Kane for about at least 6 months and wondered why Yzerman doesn't get rid of him. Kane has been impressive late, much better than the hot streaks last season. I didn't think he had it in him.

Even if that was correct, you have to remember that the teams we are fighting for the playoff spot have to play as well as you think our team has to do. You understand that if we have to keep .550 pace they can't make it with .520 or .510. I find it crazy you think we need 91 points while the Bruins and the blue jackets can make it with 87.
90 points entails that all these teams have to play better than their current record, not only the Wings.
