GDT: Game #42: Oilers @ Blackhawks - 5 PM - SNW

“Random sample without rhyme or reason” listing out his last 16 consecutive games. Let me help because this appears to be a difficult concept for you to grasp - showing his last 16 consecutive games is a large, unbiased sample that objectively shows he has been consistently been playing well for months. You have no idea what cherry picking is.

16 games = “large, unbiased sample”

28 games = not

Okay.

It’s the exact equivalent of today saying “Hyman sucks, can’t score goals and can’t finish” while ranting about it every night because he started slow. The fact he came back and scored a lot since? Doesn’t matter because October.

Except we don’t have a three year trend of Hyman getting worse at scoring goals. This is the difference.

Derangement syndrome.

Again, I don’t know why you do this yourself, but you do you.:laugh::laugh:

How has Skinner played since mid-November?

Season average .898 while playing behind the best team D in the league on a team that doesn't take many penalties and gives up the least HDSC. Clue. Its a bad number in context.

How’s he played since mid-November?

Is it possible in your eyes for a player to start really bad, then recover and play well (like he’s done this year)? Or is the addiction to ripping him such that you HAVE to pretend the last two months of play just haven’t existed?

I’ll be the first to jump on him if/when he craters again. Until then, he’s been playing well for a while and I currently have no problem with his game.

You're the one distorting numbers with selective sample. I guess what one has to do to defend subpar goaltending.

Stu is adequate when the team in front of him is playing airtight D and allowing hardly anything.

"The last 2 mths of play" Even in games where the scorecount is down Skinner has been making clown plays like throwing the puck in the slot from behind his net, throwing the puck directly to opponents or passing the puck right to an opponent so he could wrap the puck in.

I don't get your narrative either that Skinner just starts bad and then is all sunshine. Anybody on the board realizes Skinner starts every season poorly and then has other poor stretches through season and in playoffs. Not like its isolated.

I can't even fathom the comparison to Hyman. lol. Yeah one player has been great for us. Not so much the other one. .haha

On what planet is 16 consecutive games a “selective sample?” It’s all of his work for a long stretch of time, good and bad. It demonstrates a level of consistency.

I can admit that he was bad to start the year, and it’s been a tale of two seasons. I’m not naive to the fact that he could fall backwards again, I’m just not going to waste breath speculating and panicking about something that hasn’t happened yet. On the other side of the coin it’s a concerted effort to discredit anything good he does.

Typical. “Ya the stats look good and he’s been winning BUT he did this one thing once so he still sucks.” Ridiculous.

Yeah, as if Stu Skinner has thrown the puck away for instant GA ONLY once. lol. Everybody on the board is terrified when he plays the puck.

His stats are save % .898. Maybe take it up with the NHL that they include all the games. Not like you. ;)

How’s he been playing for the last two months?

Go Oilers! As others have said, don't f*** this up.

I've been loving the Pejorative Slur, I mean ReJean updates whoever posts those.

We all know we should win this. Let’s see a real effort to start the game. Make up for that pens game start.

You can’t hit the half way point of the season sporting a sub 900 on a team that’s one of the best at limiting chances and expect a bunch of praise.
It’s the team defense, only team in the league to give up those ultra high danger chances!

/sarcasm

Absolutely love how the two biggest “sKiNNer Is tHE woRSt GOaLiE eveR” fundamentalists ran for the hills at the simple question of “how has he been playing since mid-November.”

Completely obsessed with his early season play, but would rather duck and run than possibly admit that he’s been consistently playing well for a healthy stretch of hockey since.

Skinner appears to be the only player that should never, under any circumstance get credit for good play because he was bad months ago.

Yet the avs head coach complained about officiating the other day lmao
Between Bednar and crybaby Mackinnon, the Avs gotta have the whiniest bunch of f***s in the entire league

Not sure why you’re banging the Skinner drum so hard, he gave up 4 goals in 14 minutes the last time out.

You’re the one cherry picking his stats.

If you remove all his good games, he looks even worse.

Am I doing this right?

Interesting lineup for today's game...

Every one of his games over the last two months is not cherry picking.

Might be hard to spot because there aren’t many of them over the past two months, but his bad games are in there too.
