Game #42: Oilers @ Blackhawks - 5 PM - SNW

Every one of his games over the last two months is not cherry picking.

Might be hard to spot because there aren’t many of them over the past two months, but his bad games are in there too.
A goalie who has been below average this season is going to get hammered when he has a game like last game which was dreadful. A good 16 game stretch or not he has not earned him self any grace while he still remains near the bottom of the league statistically on a great defensive team.

Guess it depends which side of the season you choose to fixate on. He’s been good more than he’s been bad this year, and the last time he had two sub .900 games in a row was November 16th.

I think that’s more than enough to say “he’s been playing pretty well lately” and cool off on slagging him at every opportunity, but to each their own.

Objectivity isn’t easy sometimes.

f*** sakes I knew they'd load up the first line after last game.

I don’t have a problem with it against the lesser teams. Usually that line is good for at least 2-3 goals against bad teams, which should be enough to win.

I wonder if part of it has to do with McDavid’s game being underwhelming of late. Might be an effort to get him feeling it again before things go back to normal.

lol. Facing a goalie with a generationally bad sav%. Sounds like a shutout incoming.
