LA
Clifford
Scrivens
Sutter

Buf
Brayden McNabb
Nolan

Moving Clifford frees up a spot for an actual LW scoring threat. Currently 0 on team.

Scrivens: Buff will need a backup after Miller is moved (don't hate Scrivens just got to put something into it for the other team)

Sutter: Because a monkey could come up with these line combinations.... Frattin on the first power play half way through the game after being benched for a month? Where did Martinez go?

Nolan: Kings need a coach

McNabb: Young depth defenseman to allow one of Mitchell/Greene to be moved to clear cap space for a LW and keeping Schultz out of the line up in case of injury. Martinez can do the 3rd pairing job ... and only costs 1M.

Ok maybe the Sutter thing is a little harsh... I'd settle for a conditioning stint in Manchester for him.

:laugh:Wow I don't know whether to laugh or take it serious. But this is freakin hilarious. Knew we where gonna go on a losing streak it always happens every year. Better sooner then later. But realistically look who we have as our players:

Forwards
Kopitar - Skill
Carter - Sniper
Williams - grinder/some skills
Richards - playmaker
Brown - grinder(don't know what's happened to this guy)
King - grinder
Toffoli - young/skill
Clifford - grinder/no skill
Nolan - grinder/ no skill
Lewis - grinder/ no skill
Stool - grinder/no skill
Frattin - grinder/no skill

When we are on our game it's hard to beat us but when we suck it's sticks out like a sore thumb! We literally lack a lot of skills like the Hawks, Blues, Aves, Sharks, Pens, even the Ducks. Too many grinders in my honest opinion. Not gonna win if we have basically three lines of grinders and Kopitar and Carter. I always say we seriously lack a lot of skill for a long time. Anyone agree.

We have more skill than the Blues and we're better than them in all the important areas . Backes is their only real center, then what? The bottom 6 has something to be desired but out of all those teams you listed, the Hawks are the deepest and the real threat to us. Our grind it out style is why we have so many grinders. this team is not built on high skilled players, but on the combo of both.skill and grit.

Pretty well on I'd say; then look at your current lines; skill, sniper, grinder; playmaker, grinder, grinder; grinder, grinder, grinder; rookie, grinder, grinder. No freakin' wonder they can't score.

Well our top 6 players are better, but there bottom 6 is better than ours by a long shot. And their top 6 is pretty good.

Constantly moving the lines around also helps. Tons of missed passes in the offensive zone because people don't know where their line mates are going to be.

Solid quotes from Drew.

Drew Doughty: "When our team is playing with confidence–throughout the whole lineup –we’re an amazing team. We’ve got to remember that..."We’re playing like we’re scared out there. We’re scared to try things. We’re scared to do the right things ...and that’s why we’re losing and that’s why we got smoked tonight."

I agree on our style but overall from top to bottom I would say the Blues have more skilled guys then we do. We play them well because we have higher end skill then they do but team wise Blues are more skilled.

It's been a long time since this team dropped 5 straight in regulation. Talking years. Where are my stats junkies?

Loved the fact he said that they got smoked. Some teams don't like to admit they get demolished.

He sounds like more than a leader than a certain player wearing a 'C' on his sweater.

the only positive thing from tonight's game was this "gem"

It was a bit lopsided on the scoreboard, but I love the physicality. And, Damn right the Blues are tired of losing to the Kings. If you switch places, wouldnt you be?

Blues are full of of the flu and suffering injuries to their top players. Cant wait until the Blues win something and I get to have that mentality you guys have. I mean that. Im a Cardinals (baseball) fan, but hockey is my sport. I dont know if the Blues will ever win a freaking Cup, but I hope so.

I wouldn't read too much into this spanking, the Kings lost 4 straight before playing the Blues and looked like !@#$ in the process. If we meet again in the playoffs It will be a more contested game. Credit where credit is due, the Blues look like they've assembled a good team, they have made it to the dance a few times and look about ready to make the jump to being a real contender. They remind me of the kings before we added carter, but perhaps with a more skilled D. Good luck going forward

From LA kings Inisder Sutter post game

He seems to have pinned it on the goalie again...\

On how to cut down on the number of penalties taken:
That’s a bad penalty. They took more penalties than us, but the bottom line is that it’s a four minute penalty, and we had it killed, and it’s a bad goal. At some point your goaltenders have to be good penalty killers, too. And that’s two in two games where we’ve basically killed, and the puck’s off the back of the boards. And the other one’s a faceoff goal, so I’m not getting into that part of it.

On the goalie switch:
You’ve got to make saves. They only had any chances ‘till that. Any. You’ve got to make some saves. I mean, that’s that how you break losing streaks, that’s how you have winning streaks

Bull, you need at least one goal to win a game, how about some offensive support, hell even a bit of defensive help wouldnt hurt

OK, I'm starting to lose faith in Sutter. He's making all kinds of questionable line-up decisions, and his blaming things on the goaltending is getting ridiculous. Turns out all those people claiming Sutter pulled Jones to send a message to the team were wrong, Sutter was just being an idiot.

I could see it on the first goal. Jones didn't get his body to post, just a skate which they took advantage of.

The second goal was a big rebound..

Scrivens played like crap.

Still doesn't explain the lack of production on offense though. They didn't lose 5-4, 5-3, 5-2, or even 5-1. They lost 5-0. The goalie isn't gonna score a goal.

How many games do you expect to win when you go on a 5-game stretch where your team scores 6 goals? That means you have to shutout your opponents in all of those games in order to stand a chance in regulation.

He sounds like more than a leader than a certain player wearing a 'C' on his sweater.

For a young guy, he's always been that direct, instead of giving the usual generic, vanilla pudding answers 'we have to work harder, we have to move our feet out there, etc."
He's always a good post game interview and I think when Brown retires , he should be a good fit for the C, he does it on the ice as well.
