This is becoming an unlikeable Bruins team, only 4-5 guys who I actually like based on their play. Our goaltending is below average, our goal scoring is near the very bottom, our PP is historically bad, our PK well below our normal standards. There is just not much to be optimistic about, Lysell deserves a legitimate shot and Poitras should be recalled. Surely a trade of consequence is coming soon, the team and fan base both need to be reenergized.

If ownership and management were brave and smart, they'd accept this year is a lost cause, work out what changes they want to make to the roster for next season and who they want to keep around, become sellers at the deadline, and try and do a quick re-tool and go again next year, like the Caps have done. I think this core is not right and one of the top guys, or at least one or two who are in that 'outer' core like Carlo, need to be replaced.

But I really can't see that happening. They'll persevere and cling on to hope until it's entirely snuffed out.
I can't believe they still refuse to make trades with their vets. Gryz and JDB ran their contracts down. Overpaid plug middle liners like Carlo and Coyle same thing. Freddy will leave for nothing.

What is Sweeney scared of it's addition by subtraction when guys get that complacent. Hopefully he's gone too.

Hell baby
Pompoms? No. I've not been shy to say when there was a soft goal given up by Swayman. I'm also not going to blame every goal allowed on him because he makes $8.25 million. Has he been great? No and he's said it himself. Has the defensive structure been bad? Yes. Has the scoring been atrocious? Also yes.
No no, it isnt he “hasn’t been great”. He’s been flat out bad. There are other things lacking on this team for sure- offensive firepower being the biggest one- but the most glaringly obvious factor in this team being much worse than last years team is the guy ranked 4th in saves above expected last season got paid and is now ranked 75th. It is what it is.

I don't know why people act surprised. They don’t have really any top end skill guys on this team aside from Pasta. I’m sure Sweeney will be under the gun to trade picks to get this team to a 1st or 2nd round exit. But as much as I would like Sweeney and Neely gone, zero chance that happens.
