I still say there should be no set rink size. Each team can do what they want within minimum/maximum restrictions, therefore every arena is different and you get true home ice advantage. Should be able to use materials for the boards too that alter rebound

I think that may have been the case at some time in the past. The old Boston Garden was the source of a great majority of complaints by visiting teams because it was smaller than other rinks making it easier for the Bruin Bullies to body check their opponents.
