Developing mid to late 1st rounders is the least of our problems
Schneider and Miller say hello. I suggested trading for Chych over a year ago (I agree puck movement/support from the D is a priority) but the Yotes price tag is ridiculous. The main problem is Chych seems to find ways to get seriously injured, that's the gamble part, can't have that if we pay through the nose.
OK. What's our percentage on hitting draft picks?

Chychrun is 100%.

Which one is more like gambling?

Kakko will close the gap with Hughes before all is said and done. Wait for it.
As an impartial fan.. I think Kakko will emerge as a very skilled, power forward. No, I don’t think he’ll ever score as much as Jack, but I still believe he will become an impact player, just more physically than statistically. I see this as a valuable aspect in the playoffs.

Whyt the f*** are we talking about Hughes in this thread? I would understand people bringing him up if we passed on him. But we didn't.

Let the Devils fans delve on this Hughes vs Kakko thing, because that's all they have to talk about after they drop outside the playoffs. Which is going to happen lol.

Shesty is on his friggen game today. Lot of junk thrown at the net Ala Carolina but he made some big stops.

That Schneider call was a joke

Fully expect Kane to be here replacing kravtsov and probably taking trochecks spot on the PP. wouldn’t be surprised to see Mika back to the bumper.

I’d love to see kravtsov still here and playing with laf and chytil at that point. Vesey Goodrow and Goat

def hope we see more play in their end but def not a period the shots reflect the chances. tough thing with the devils is their skating and aggressiveness, its consistently having us end up with all 3 forwards below the puck when they get it. will give fwds credit, they've been hustling back into play but def playing with fire. our dmen are also pretty aggressive and they have some slippery players which makes the fwds flying back - though not just head down and skating....with an awareness of numbers and space - critical all game.

offensively i don't mind the high low plays, those are getting towards net and we've had traffic. would really like to see us be able to take advantage of their aggression fleeing the zone though. made a bunch of nice plays forcing turnovers in their zone....need to turn those into chances more efficiently or why take the risk of stepping up on pucks there

If we're just making up odds, 212%...

I'm not against Chychrun, but you can't call him having success here to be 100%.
Ans anyone my pint was only that we can and do find and develop 1st rounders...

Tuba + both 1sts for Chychrun would Arizona do it?

100% top pair player in the NHL.

Everyone can get hurt. Not everyone can be a top player in the NHL.

Not everyone gets hurt every year like Chychrun does either. Never played close to a full season.

And, were it any other draft, I'd consider it. This draft, nope. 1st in 2024? Sure.

He's 100% a success as a NHL player. How is that making up odds

Reread what I wrote. Making the picks is more gambling than trading them for Chychrun.

One is a guarantee. The other is not. It doesn't mean we can't find, draft and develop good players.

I’m amazed blais just has a regular spot. It’s embarrassing. No goals still? Does nothing

But I gotta say it’s clear as day the weakness is kravtsov’s spot on the Panarin line. We need an upgrade there. A legit top 6 RW and we are in business. Kravy is a third line guy right now would actually like to see him flip with laf if anything. But at the deadline I’m fairly certain that’s the move. Kravtsov prob be the guy going the other way
Just nope. If Vesey ends up in the top 6 again for any reason other than injuries you're going to have to buy me a new TV because my remote is going through it.

Had NHL Radio on in my truck on the way home from the gym. Two things

1- Debs play by play guy said that Jimmy Vesey struggled with mental health issues a few years ago, was open about his struggles, and many feel that being a Ranger is always where he's wanted to be.

I must of been living under two rock's with a concussion because I didn't know or recall that he was having issues.

Good on him for battling through it.

2- Chico is so bad as an analyst at this point, that I truly believe that 40 years of bad toupee's have squeezed his brain into cheese grits.

Let's win this boys

I would put so much money down on that not happening. Unless you mean close the gap by Kakko getting better, thus by definition closing the gap that will still be very wide.

The gamble part is losing Chychrun AND the trade package *when* he blows out his next ligament, that leaves us in pretty bad shape, not better. His injury history should deduct at least one first from the package, but of course the Yotes are demanding an overpay because why not.

"100% success as an nhl player"
But NOT AS A NY RANGER
Many players cant handle the pressure here
And also no guarantee he has another major injury
Ur obsession with this guy is reaching jovo kravy territory...
