Actually kind of funny our playoff chances will be 13% and theirs 50% if we win this in regulation. We'll be tied in points with 1 more GP. I assume strength of schedule etc. factors in but in reality if we win tonight it's a pretty big disaster for Ottawa's playoffs hopes.

it’s kind of incredible how tied up the East really is right now. The difference between wild card and last place in the conference is 6 points! If Montreal can rattle off such a heater, hopefully Detroit can join them and keep up these winning ways.

Barring maybe a plane crash, I don't think anything qualifies as a "big disaster" for anyone's playoff hopes with 43 games remaining.

The type of hope and optimism I have now after watching them play under Todd. These guys could legit be one of the better teams in the league and guys putting up monster numbers. We’ve seen them score like this before despite Lalonde and now with the Todd effect. Things could get wild for the second half

Actually pretty amped up at work today to watch the game tonight. The Toddfather has the guys playing with life, 4 and 1 in the last 5... can catch the Sens (who's rebuild is far more advanced and superior to ours). Feels like we finally owe the Sens one.

Also the Habs in a wild card spot? You look at the bottom 8 to 9 in the standings and there is a few teams who should be competiting and the rest are rebuilds, retools who are all in the same place as Detroit but with either significantly worse cap structures going forward or with less draft capital/prospects in the pipeline. Better start another Detroit Downfall/Yzerplan sucks thread.

A bunch of these young teams will miss the playoffs without tanking.... which isn't a bad thing always. Teams have to improve and try to win. Come draft time everyone is an expert, can't believe you guys screwed up your chances at player X!

I love the stats and the colors. Amazing. You know what else is amazing ? Professional sports are starting to realize analysts and stat guys are clueless. What you have shown above means peanut shells on the floor of LCA. Sweeped up and tossed to a landfill. Stat guys had a cute run, but what are you doing showing this. Losing or wining this game and the above numbers have no bearing on the actual outcome of said projections. Further proof, stat guys need to pound sand.
