No killer instinct. Unfortunately you can't really teach that you have to either draft players with that mindset or your on ice leadership and coaching staff have to demand it. I think Marchy has that killer instinct but after him I'm not sure what top 6 forwards or top 4 D have any push back at all.

There are too many parts of a proper foundation in place to blow it up. But damn to they need to find a way to get to at least league average scoring. Bruins score around 2.5 goals a game. League average is 3.

Bruins issues are DeBrusk gone and Pastrnak's lack of goal scoring. Its a significantly
different team with those two offense drivers out (#74) and degraded (#88). Of course #1play is part of it also but the first 2 are primary driver. Was ****ing stupid not signing #74 last year.

The lack of killer instinct!!- We were discussing this last night during the game

Too many supporting players who don't look to make the play, instead they make the "safe" play which often results in giving up possession or a chip in on the opposing goalie. So many times they pass on taking it to the net for the button-hook at the top of the circle.

Add in an over-abundance of "nice" guys- great to have a drink with but when on the ice I want more players who are visible and engaged and most of all who visibly hate to lose

Net- a team that on paper looks big and challenging but on the ice is way too passive and dare I say-soft both physically and mentally

And yet- I watch and hope

More then him needs to score. He is not the only guy drawing a pay cheque .the D has not scored in over a month..

Come on, e is scoring at a 27 goal clip and DeBrusk is a legit top 6 wing with speed that was exactly what they needed. Who are you blaming for lack of goal scoring that is way below #88 goal production? 13\18 had career years so you think its going to happen again? This isn't rocket science, #88 lack of goal production and no DeBrusk
is killing them.

Pasta playing hurt with pretty much an average centre and a rotating winger. The powerplay sucks because they have a backend that absolutely can't do the job.How many pts that costing him?Take Pasta off team they would be bottom 5 100%.

Debrusk on this team would have a stat line of 39GP (missed one for being upset) 6G 10A and we would be hammering Sweeney for paying him.

Good for him that it's worked out well in Vancouver. Respectfully though, f*** that guy

You are overrating DeBrusk's significance.

He scored at the same pace as Frederic and Geekie last season. Tied for 6th in scoring on the team.

They miss Heinen more than Jake.

Jake doesn't have 16 goals and 28 points playing for this team.
No, but he would definitely have more then Frederic types right? Heck, he scored vs Bruins.

You assume it wouldn't go the other way though.

I would argue that Jake would have a fraction of the production if he were still here.

Have we learned nothing from watching him over the years?
Paint it any way you want the Bruins miss his production.

Gos without saying, but it all depends on the return. Two things though, I don’t want him moved and I don’t want Sweeney deciding what the return would be.
I agree no one is untradeable , it just depends or what the return would be. This team is not getting significantly better by trading pieces like Coyle, Freddy, Carlo etc.. You have to give to get just comes down to how desperate the Owner/GM etc.. is.

I find it amusing how much more chatter there is after a loss. I must include myself because I post so infrequently.

From where I sat, the Bruins were the better team and could not find the back of the net. That’s 2 games in a row. I also think the Rangers aren’t as bad as their record indicates.

This team can play with the big boys.

So, is this just cyclical? Things will start going their way soon? To an extent, yes.
Not going to count on that to make this season more successful though.

Trades, trades and more trades. I wish it were that simple.

Frederic is the most likely to be shipped first.

Some days I’m on Ozzy’s side and want Kreider. Other times - nah… for all the stated reasons.

If they could put together a package to land Pettersson, that would be the best case scenario. Problem is (like with most every trade scenario), money in - money out. Vancouver is also cap strapped.

Pettersson makes 11.6 for this year + 3

What combination of salary would add up to or close to 11.6?
Vancouver wants (according to various reports) a replacement centre and a RS defenceman.

Zacha (4.75) + Carlo (4.1) get us close.
Add in Frederic (2.3) and you’re close enough. (11.15)

Maybe some picks/prospects (Lysol + 5th) goes as well and we get some AHL player + a 7th…

What does this look like when finished?
I think a better Bruins team and a deeper Vancouver team that may get better through the elimination of the distractions.

That isn't my point whatsoever. Has nothing to do with not having #88 on team.
#88 scored 40+ goals with basically same PP group last year. My point is they have lost at least 5-6 points because of the missing goals of #74\#88. This s\b who they are given those 2 players missing production.

Pure BS on your part. He had more goals than #88 last two PO seasons. In '22-23
before his injuries he was scoring at the same clip as this year. His salary is fine.

I have seen several posters claim Petterson has knee issues so don't want to trade for him.

I agree. We have some good 3d and 4th line players BUT need a player or two who can play on the top two lines.

Also, the D scares me. When Hampus returns it will improve but they need help. Mason Lohrei has skill but is still very green.

I believe Sway will be a great goalie but is not yet there (he is young). I hope he has thick skin because the fans will start to get on him if he lets in bad goals....and he does most games.

We Bs fans have been spoiled for years.

Hopefully management can add a player or to who can help.
Sway does not have to worry he has the big contract and even if he never proves to be a great goalie he will still collect the big bucks. DS made a big mistake and should have arranged a bridge deal or moved on.
